A Little Disappointing
The property is perfectly located and the Sony Center is modern and very interesting. The apartment was clean, but unfortunately, it is cold, stark and sparsely and cheaply furnished. The lighting is poor with inexpensive fixtures; the 2 real bedrooms have built-in closets, miniscule bedside tables and a TV on a built in, narrow shelf; the "3rd bedroom" is a bed in the living room with a draw curtain around it; the main TV for the apartment is behind this bed so is not usable when the curtains are drawn. We needed to supply our own toilet paper and laundry detergent; one gets the impression this operation is all about the revenue: when I made the initial inquiry, I heard back immediately; later, when I asked for confirmation of receipt of my bank wires, it took a number of days and some prompting. We absolutely loved Berlin (and will be back) and found ourselves, after a day out, not looking forward to coming back to the somewhat dreary apartment (it reminds one of an airport transient hotel room). The listing mentions that it is cheaper than the adjacent Ritz-Carlton but it's not by much, maybe $50 per day. When one adds in all the amenities included in the price of a good hotel room, it's probably a push. I'm sure this apartment satisfies many/most of it's guests, but it was not right for us.
Owner's Response: The apartment is equipped with ground floor heating. All guests can individually control the room temperature. The description shows every guests before they book the apartment the room situation. we communicate that one comfortable double bed is integrated in the very large living room behind curtains. Its a designer building and not an old building with a warm character. The furniture is high standard and the lights too. nevertheless thank you for the feedback. We will to improve the lighting better and intend soon to intergrate wall images.
