180 degree view of the lake and mountains! Full morning sun - southern exposure - 150 feet of sandy beaches. This cozy log home is located on Hayden Lake's most scenic bay in a private, secluded setting, near the site of the old Hayden Lake Schoolhouse. View the lake and mountains from every window in the house! Step out onto a large deck and eating area overlooking the lake. The 1600 square foot house has a full working kitchen, furnished with all you need to make this week memorable. It sleeps 6-10 comfortably; camping space is available on the property and there is a forest service campground 1/2 mile away. There are two separate bedrooms; one offers a queen bed and the other contains both a double and a single bed. You'll find a sofa bed and wood stove in the downstairs sitting room. There are three large window seats that convert to sleeping quarters upstairs.

Enjoy swimming, fishing, boating and sunshine from a private 40-foot dock and sandy beaches located on the property. Massages are available by making pre-booking arrangements with Janet Bernhardt (contact her to make an appointment with North Country Massage). Bring your play clothes, swimsuit and a good book - plan on a week just to kick back and RELAX!

About Diana Nottage

This home was built by my grandfather in 1960. The actual property and 15 acres behind it were actually purchased by him in the 1940´s.

My father remodeled the home and we really want to keep it in the family and the keep the rich heritage for our own grandchildren. We had the idea that other´s may recognize and enjoy the natural beauty and peacefullness of our home. ..so we are sharing it by renting it out to our VRBO guests.

Why Diana Nottage chose Hayden Lake

I bought this home from my dad in 2005. We all brainstormed as to how we would preserve this wonderful place and with the purchase of the property...decided to rent it out. We have many return guests. It is really a special spot in North Idaho. It makes me happy to share our special place.

What makes this house unique

Morning sun! Osprey´s flying overhead. Privacy. We have had some of our most favorite family times at this lake house. The house is set up so you can enjoy peace and quiet. ..time on the large deck. ..and still enjoy family games around the table.

There is room to hike, enjoy the sandy beach that is gradual enough to accomodate a small toddler for wadding or allow diving off the 40´ dock.

I have friends that work for fish and game...they tell me mine is their favorite dock for fishing on the lake. Fish pass right by our dock to feed in the back bay and we are right at the lake side where they enter and exit.

I love being able to watch the water activity at the dock from our deck.

The house and location are a delight. It was well kept and the view of the lake from the deck was so peaceful. We loved reading on the window seats! All in all a perfect week. Thanks for letting us stay! We hope to visit again next year

A great get-a-way on Hayden Lake

The owner should inform VRBO that the cabin is directly across the lake from a children's church camp.
The noise from the camp's activities was distracting.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: There is a church camp across the lake from the cabin, however over the years, the childrens laughter and the courtesy and respect for neighbors the camp shows has outweighed their presence. I far prefer them to a development that would add many houses and docks to the lake.

Long Overdue Review

We stayed here for 5 days in April of 2010, and had the best vacation we'd ever had. It was a little too cold for a swim, but the cabin was so cozy and we curled up by the fire with books, popcorn, and cake. The feeling of being utterly secluded was so delightful and exactly what we needed to re-charge our batteries. Thank you so much for this lovely retreat.

My husband and I brought our toddler for a week at your cabin. Everything was just perfect, the cabin was clean, well stocked and there were lots of extra touches that made us feel at home. Although we were here in the spring and were not able to take full advantage of the lake there was lots to do in this area, enough to keep us and the little one busy all week. We enjoyed the tranquility of the area and wildlife that surrounds it and look forward to coming back in the summer when we can spend the whole week in the lake. Thank you for making us feel at home!
