review studio

Review Submitted: August 13, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The description listed on the Internet is correct. The location of the studio apartment is perfect, because it's close to the city centre and located on a silent street.
The apartment is clean and well maintained. The interior is simple and beautiful.
The roof terrace and the balcony are nice places where you can have dinner for example.
The costumer service is very good. Ms Retvik Lombardo is friendly and helpful, she provides information about many points of interest and she's available for all kinds of questions and problems. You can find Rome guides and books about sights and museums in the studio apartment too. Also to mention is the free Internet access.
I would definitely recommend this holiday apartment to family and friends who want to go to Rome and don't want to stay in hotels.

Lovely 1-room apartment for a nicer visit to Rome

AsmundEr Trondheim, Norway
Review Submitted: August 4, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Nice room, good bed, cold air-conditioning, well-equipped kitchen, excellent burglary-protection, sunny terrace with bbq, nice neighbourhood, easy access to transportation. What more could one want? Oh, and the locals are just charming.

We stayed at the apartment for nine days in the end of June 2009 for our honeymoon. We were welcomed upon arrival by Hanne, who showed us around the apartment and the terrace and explained everything we needed to know. This tour convinced us that our stay would be very nice, and the few quirks that Hanne explained only lend to the autenthicity of the place in our opinion.

Arriving in the evening, we enjoyed the sunset from the terrace and went to bed early. The folding sofa-bed was supremely easy to use, avoiding the feeling of living in the bedroom. The kitchen had a good stove, and moka-pots for making coffee made even early mornings enjoyable. The small freezer enabled us to bring gelato home, to enjoy any time. The small balcony outside provided a nice place to eat breakfast, before venturing out into Rome on the closest busline, the 881.

Breakfast and other meals were easily purchased nearby, with Claudio down the street providing fresh bread every morning and some of the finest salami we have ever tasted. Nearby restaurants were also good for those evenings when we did not eat out in central Rome, and the kitchen enabled us to cook some of our own favorites. The fact that most pizza-places do take-out furthered our options.

The bathroom was fairly standard (although the shower needed to be rubbed the right way), but the security arrangements around the apartment were definitely above par. The doors both to the balcony, the terrace and the front door were equipped with six dead-bolts and an impressive key. The easy-to-use blinds-system on the windows ensured our privacy, and even allowed us to fine-tune the amount of light when we went to bed.

All in all we are very pleased with our stay! We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and family, and we will surely be coming back for our next trip to The Eternal City.

Our Perfect Week in Rome

Tracy and I arrived early Saturday morning after flying from the US overnight. We were so glad to see a driver with our name on a sign (We highly recommend the limo service - well worth it) so we didn't have to fight the crowds and traffic, etc. The driver took us straight to the apartment were we were met by Hanne. She showed us the lovely apartment with the huge private terrace. This was our favorite spot. We spent early mornings and all but a couple of evenings on the terrace. Tracy loved to hurry back from a full day of sightseeing and relax over a lovely bottle of wine and watch the beautiful sunsets. Great place to enjoy the local neighborhood and all that it offers. It took us a little while to figure out the bus and Metro, but once we had that down, getting around Rome was easy.

Hanne was an excellent hostess and we also recommend that guests take her up on her offer to provide a welcome pack. This was so nice after a long flight - not having to go out immediately and do shopping was great.
Rome is a beautiful city and the people we met were very friendly and helpful. We were treated well by all the nice Italian people even though we only understood only a few words in Italian.
The comfortable and relaxing penthouse that Hanne hosted us in was the highlight to the end of each day we spent in Rome and was the best of all our accomodations in Italy.
Truely a great memory for our 25th anniversary! Thanks so much, Hanne.

First time in Rome...

Hanna & Arne Norway
Review Submitted: July 1, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My wife and I arrived Rome in April, and spend three nights in the studio apartment. Hanne had arranged transport from the airport directly to Attico Aurelia Antica, and also filled up the refrigator with food and drinks for us (recommended) The apartment is close to the bus stop, and to the centre of Rome is only 10 - 15 minutes with bus. The apartment was clean and well-equipped, among the facilities also internet so we could check news from home. Especially we enjoyed the roof terrace, where we could eat our breakfast or just have a relaxing afternoon. We think the studio apartment is perfect for a couple. Hanne gave us a lot of useful information, and also helped us to order fine ham and cheese from a delicatesse store nearby. We have already recommended the apartment for friends and colleagues. There are a lot of places to visit, and we managed a few (and use good shoes) - among them Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi fontain and Pantheon. We went out for dinner every evening in Trastevere and liked this area a lot. Hopefully we will be back soon.

We stayed in the studio apartment from May 20-24.
A great & safe neighbourhood. Buses are located approximately a 5 minute walk away.
The studio apartment is a bit small. However it is very clean and the beds are comfortable and you are only there to sleep and shower.
The main attraction of the villa... the terrace.....What can I say!!!! It is better than the pictures. It's absolutely gorgeous!! There is a great pizza place walking distance away. We, got a pizza and wine, ate and drank on the terrace after a long hot day of exploring Rome. The terrace has lights for the evenings and electrical outlets for your ipod. A very relaxing atmosphere after a hot, hectic day of sightseeing . There is a drying rake one the terrace if you have to do laundry. A barbecue was being installed after we left....That will be great!
Hanne was very helpful and a phone call away if assistance was need. Hanne organized an airport pick up for use which was an amazing touch after a long travel day and the time difference. Hanne also had bottled water and some wine for us.
A very considerate and very appreciated touch.
If you are more than 2 people traveling and the weather does not cooperate for the use of the terrace, I would recommend the Penthouse. It is beautiful and spacious.
We took the bus to get around, the centre of Rome is approximately 20-30 minutes away. We did get lost, in the area of the villa at night (part of the travel experience). We did not feel threatened or unsafe.
I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Rome. The worst part, was hauling the luggage up 6 flights of stairs....BUT you only have to do that once. Going down is always easier.

If I ever get the opportunity to return to Rome I would absolutely try to stay here.
Hanne your place rocks!!!

Great Apartment, Wonderful Host

My wife and I rented the studio apartment for 9 nights in January. This was the first holiday rental of our first trip to Europe and by far the best. We were greeted by our (multi-lingual) hostess, who was very kind, informative about everything Rome, and made herself available without being intrusive. Wireless internet and a library of guidebooks were invaluable. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable for the two of us. I highly recommend this rental and hope to return for a future stay.

Via dei Brusati

Villa Lante Finland
Review Submitted: May 17, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The neighbourhood is quiet and non-touristic. The studio itself is nice and clean, suitable for two. It has everything you need: a well-equipped kitchenette, a balcony and a spacious bathroom with good supply of hot water. An extra advantage is the terrace on the top floor. We also appreciated the safety provided by the thick door and good lock.

The owner is very friendly and the service works with Nordic-standard punctuality.

We warmly recommend this apartment.

Very nice apartment with two outstanding terraces. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need (and a little bit more) including a wireless internet (you have to bring your own computer).
The apartment is clean and we got a lot of help with everything we needed. It was almost like having your own personal tourist guide.
Don’t miss to bye your breakfast at the local shops in the neighbourhood.
It’s very easy to travel by bus into the centre of Rome.
The airport shuttle service that was provided was highly appreciated and really cheap.

We will definitely coming back

Nice, clean and convenient appartment

Review Submitted: May 5, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2009
My girlfriend and i stayed in the smaller appartment for a couple of nights in February 09. It's a 20-30 minute bus ride into central Rome, but buses are frequent and cheap.

The area itself is a typical city suberb - you wouldn't spend much time there but it's a great base for going to and from Rome, although there are some nice pizzarias etc in the area.

Overall the appartment was clean, tidy and well appointed - it's small (kitchen/diner/bedroom all in one room) but ideal for 2 people and the roof terrace was lovely even in February - must be perfect when the sun's a bit hotter.

We also had a nose around the larger appartment which looks really nice and spacious and has it's own private terrace. The owner was welcoming and very helpful - made sure we got on all the right buses and knew our way to the airport when we left. She also gave us a great last minute rate as we only booked the day before arrival - i can't imagine it's available at the last minute during peak season though. Would definately recommend this appartment.

My husband, my one-year-old son and myself stayed here for a week in September 2007. The appartement is VERY nice, it is even better than in the pictures, and usually it is the other way around... The appartment is clean, delicate, appears as new and has probably the best roof terrace in Rome with a 365 degree view of Rome. We used the roof terrace every day, either for breakfast, lunch or relaxing in the sun after a day in busy Rome - perfect and very delicately furnished! The appartment is situated 10 minutes from the city centre. The bus stop is just down the road, and it takes you to St.Peters church or downtown. Or you can catch a cab to the city centre for app 10 €. It is also a nice bar just outside the door where you can get your italian coffee and lovely cakes for breakfast and really nice sandwiches etc for lunch. Next door to the bar is the local store where you can buy your bread, the best parma, vine and so on. There are also many shops nearby, so you do not need to go downtown to do your shopping if you do not want to. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, very practical for us with a one-year-old, to stay in the loacl area at night. The restaurants were really nice, with something for every taste. And there is a whole different feeling to dine out with only Romans, compared to only tourists downtown....
Hanne, the landlord, was very nice and helpful. She gave us tips on restaurants, shopping, where to go, arranged limo-service to and from the airport (recommended!) and helped us with whatever we needed (even toys and a crib for my son).
The neighbourhood was very nice, and is was surprisingly quiet at night.
I have recommended this appartment to all my friends and family and would definitely stay there again!"
