Casa Tarsan Gandia, Oliva, Villa Longa

The villa is two stories over basement, which is occupied by the owner, Trevor, who has his own seperate entrance to his apartment.

The top floor comprises main bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Entry to this bedroom is by a stairs which runs straight up from the living room. There are no doors between the living room and this bedroom. Any noise (TV/Talking) in the dining room is amplified in the bedroom. Problems in the morning/at night.

Downstairs from the main bedroom is the rest of the house. There are 4 bedrooms with a double bed in each room. These 4 bedrooms share just one bathroom between them.

There is no air conditioning in the villa and small fans are provided in some of the bedrooms.

Hairdriers are neither provided nor allowed in the villa.

Sheets and pillowcases provided to our party were 50%poly/cotton mix, not Egyptian cotton advertised. Clean linen was neither offered nor provided in the two weeks we were there.

Large swimming pool = 8m by 4m and is about 4 foot deep at its deepest.

No video player or video library.

There are over 1000 stations available on the tv, but there are no UK stations. The dish is set to receive a signal from Astra 19.2, Only English speaking stations available are Sky News, BBC News, CNN, Bloomberg and some other news stations. All the rest are German, Spanish, Italian etc. (and quite a few stations encouraging you to ring premium numbers that you would prefer your children not to see).

Internet access is so slow as to be completely useless. Pool table is coin operated.

I have no idea how 10 people are suppost to sit together in the kitchen/dining room or the living room at the same time.

Restricted access to the washing machine. No hot water available if the sun doesn't shine. Also no hot showers if there is no sun unless you ask owner to put a gas cylinder into the upstairs ensuite bathroom,

The door on the ensuite has no lock. Even with the venetian blinds are shut and fully down on this door, there are still two clear unfrosted bottom panes of glass in the door. This can cause embarrasement when someone else comes up the stairs, to use the bathroom facilites.

On the plus side, Trevor, the owner is a very nice hospitable man. The views from the villa are fabulous it is located in a very beautiful area. The dog Moonie is a dote. Fresh free eggs were provided every day from 3 chickens which are on site. The villa lacks some home comforts that we wouId have expected.

I really enjoyed my stay at casa tarsan. The location is stunning and there is everything you could need in the villa. the pool table was a really good addition to the balcony in the evenings. Trevor was also the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble for him, creating a relaxing atmosphere and keeping a beautiful house. I also enjoyed some of best nights sleep in the very comfy beds and the peace and quiet of the mountains. the pool is perfect for cooling off in and we really enjoyed the volley ball net across it which made for some hard fought games of 'spaz ball'.
I would highly recommend this property for it's sheer natural beauty as well as all it's other assets.
Thankyou for a thouroughly beautiful holiday.

We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Tarsan. Perched high up in the mountains with stunning views of the valley it was just a wonderful place to wake up to every morning, especially if you are in the upstairs bedroom. The owner has clearly poured a lot of love into the property, and it rubbed off on us. We heartily recommend it.

What an incredible location as soon as we arrived I felt at home in Casa Tarsan which does indeed have simply stunning views out over the meditteranean. Quite unlike any other villa we have rented before we will definately be booking again for next year. We felt very comfortable letting the children run around and explore the villa grounds and swimming pool even though the villa is on top of a mountain it is child safe. If you want to escape the madding crowd and get a slice of heaven then this is the nearest I think you will get to it, really serene & idyllic. Interior is fitted out to very high standards and is extremely comfortable with all facilities you would expect from a top class villa really would love to own it for ourselves I cannot say more than that but enjoy your stay when you go and visit.

On arriving at the villa you will be overwhelmed by the breath taking views over the surrounding hills and valleys and out towards the blue Mediterranean. If you want a quiet relaxing time away from the crowded coast this is the place to be. The best local restaurant we tried was the Monte Corona about 15 minutes drive away. The food very good and staff friendly and capable. The walks in the river valley below and to the nearest peak are both worth doing but the summer heat and gradients made the going too tough for some of our party. The owner is very easy going and hospitable. He is easy to reach when you need help and while he lives on site you are never aware of his presence - you feel you have the place to yourselves. If you like pets you'll no doubt be adopted by the owner's dog and two cats. The villa is in a national park so if you are a nature lover the flora and fauna will provide lots of interest. We were lucky enough to have a few encounters with the local wild cat (Felis silvestris tartessia).
We all had a relaxing stress free holiday in lovely surroundings.
