Guestbook: 'The setting of the cottage is about the most beautiful place we have ever been.'
'We enjoyed our stay in Casa del Pescatore and thought the location of the cottages was wonderful. Marzamemi is a pleasant village with plenty of restaurants to eat in (mostly only serving fish). Marzamemi, in the area of Casa del Pescatore, is generally quite quiet with the exception of Friday and Saturday night when it is busy and can be quite noisy. Marzamemi proved an excellent base to explore the region and we particularly enjoyed visits to Noto, Syracuse and the local nature reserve Vendicari.'
'Prachtige ligging en uitstekend terras. We hadden een huurauto waarmee we de nabijgelegen dorpen en stadjes in het binnenland bezochten. Het was prachtig. Tevens was het echt genieten van de veelkleurige bermen langs kleine en grote wegen die volledig in bloei stonden. Ook het onthaal en de inrichting van het vissershuis waren prima.'

The area / going around: San Lorenzo, which lies 2 kilometres to the north of Marzamemi, marks the beginning of one of the most beautiful stretches of the Sicilian coast. Here the shore is characterised by golden sand beaches, turquoise seas and white limestone rocks. San Lorenzo borders on the natural reserve of ‘Vendicari’. Here you’ll find a breathtaking variety of Mediterranean flora and fauna, exotic beaches and Byzantine ruins. It is also a veritable oasis of rest and tranquillity for an array of bird species.
Heading south towards the south-eastern tip of Sicily, you find a fishing village called Portopalo. Taking the road from Marzamemi to Portopalo, but turning off before an impressive castle on the sea, one can turn left and visit the old ‘Tonnara’, one of the most scenic and extraordinary sights to be seen in Sicily. Noto, a magnificent little city famous for its stunning Baroque architecture, lies 10 kilometres away. You can’t miss the traditional afternoon stroll down its main street.
Me (Joris), Giulia and Viviana are in love with Sicily. To bring you too to fall for this magic land is our main wish and our working philosophy. With this in mind we have selected only houses which are able to unfold Sicily's colors and charm at best. Houses of good quality in unique locations, houses that we trust and that we are willing to show to you. Until now, our philosophy prized us. Since 2006, indeed, our houses are in Homeaway and since then our enthusiasm has grown stronger.
