Il Poggetto is located on a green Tuscan hilltop close to Montespertoli, in an area famous for its vineyards and olive groves, so much that it is called “City of Wine” and “City of Oil”.
It is also part of an ancient medieval area, with which in the XII century the Acciaioli family fell in love, and decided to leave Florence and move here. The houses were recently restructured, while maintaining intact the typical Tuscan style with terracotta floors and some of them with visible wooden beams.
Each one has at its disposal a garden with plants and flowers, where it is possible to relax, maybe drinking one of the good Chianti wines of the district.
There is also a swimming pool from where you can have a wide view on the surrounding hills, free WiFi Internet and a shared barbecue.
Each apartment is provided with private heating, TV-Sat, safe & a loggia (outside space) for al fresco dining.

Antique hay barn, 75+25 sqm., recently renewed respecting the authentic architectural style, with terracotta tiled floor and visible wooden beams, decorated with furniture of the period.
The apartment consists of a large sitting-room, TV-sat and a large divan-bed (160x190 cm), a complete kitchen with fridge/freezer.
A large bedroom with double bed and a bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet.
Outside there is a large loggia (25 sqm.) with table and chairs suitable for al fresco dining.
A fan is available in the house and a shared barbecue and shared washing-machine are available.

A haven of peace and tranquilty was how the property was advertised and this could not be more accurate. Set within 360 degree views over the Tuscan hillsides it was absolutely breathtaking. The property had lots of charm and was clean and well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and Ivannan (the lady who owns the main house) was very warm and welcoming. The pool was cleaned daily and the children had a wonderful time. The location between Pisa and Florence could not be better and every journey, through the fantastic countryside - stopping at various vineyards and villages alond the way, was a joy.
The market on Tuesday at Montespertoli was bustling with some great bargains to be had and the Coop supermarket there was fine for our day to day needs.
We took the bus from Bacciano to Florence (35mins on the fast bus or 1 hour scenic route) and this was brilliant. No parking issues, cost a couple of Euros each and we were delivered straight into the centre of Florence. We also visited Volterra and San Gimignano which was beautiful old medieval towns selling Alabaster, jewellery, pottery and leather goods.
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it!
