"I was attracted to this property because of the light in the photos, and it really is as light as it appears in the photos. Two sides of the apartment look out on trees and the canal, and there is no building immediately to the West, increasing the sense of light and space. We enjoyed a time of fine weather and sat on the patio, watching parrots and storks fly between the canal and Volden Park, directly across the street and to the north. The kitchen is well equipped and staples like oil, vinegar, and butter were provided.
The building has an elevator-- a bonus I ''m sure in Amsterdam. however, the tub/shower is a long step over a 3 foot side, so bathing might be a problem for persons with balance or mobility issues.
I was a bit concerned about location, as it is not in the central canal part of the city. My husband and I rented bikes and enjoyed a ten minute ride into the old city each day through Vondel Park. We locked our rental bikes up outside the building without a problem. The tram is within steps of the building entrance. It was simple to locate from the airport. Now that I understand the location, I find it a bonus.
Mr. Dubois met us at the apartment and introduced us to all the systems and appliances. Wi-Fi is fast. Local restaurants and markets are within a quarter mile.
We were very comfortable here and recommend the apartment highly."
