We booked this apartment, mainly because of the terrace, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The apartment provides everything you need to self cater, and the views from the terrace are spectacular, especially at night. The cathedral at Mdina lights up at dusk, and is absolutely beautiful. We were lucky, there were fireworks on the 4 nights we ate in the apartment. We had great weather, and the awning on the terrace allowed us to use it even during the heat of the afternoon.
In general terms, the apartment is spacious, clean and well appointed with everything you need. There is a lovely little shop below the apartment which opens early until 21.45, and in the morning sells fresh pastries. Also useful for beer, wine and chocolate. There is also a fruit and veg truck which parked up on the street from around 6.30pm to approx 9.00pm Mon-fri.
Richard offers car hire facility which is highly recommended, as whilst the apartment is not far from sites such as Mosta, Mdina, Marsaxlokk and the beaches, it would be way too inconvenient to try and use the buses. There is a supermarket logged into the Sat Nav, so you can stock up on the main basics.
I would hesitate to drive into Valetta, but there is a very regular bus service from the Mater Dei hospital or the University, both not far behind the apartment.
I can recommend the following restaurants; Mamma Mia at the Yacht Marine, Ta` Xbiex. We used Julian, the taxi driver, who was reliable, punctual and very friendly (also a biker, so that was the conversation sorted out). We also ate at Guze Bistro in Valetta, on Old Bakery Street, also excellent. Finally, please definitely take lunch or coffee and cake at the Fontanella Tea rooms at Mdina. We had lunch there; drinks, fresh baguettes, their famous cake and coffee for under 20Euro and the view seriously is amazing!
I love Malta, and this holiday was no exception. Richard was helpful and a good host, there if you need him! We took advantage of the optional extra of the car hire, and this includes airport pick up and drop off and a welcome pack. This introduced us to Julian, whose services we availed ourselves of several occasions when we both fancied a drink. Overall-Highly recommended.

We had 10 fantastic relaxing days on Malta in March 2012. We had booked Richard's Chaffeur service to meet us at the airport and as we arrived at night it was totally relaxing not to have to worry about not knowing your way around and being able to sit back and relax on our way to the apartment. Richard greeted us personally at the apartment and had organised for all the basics to be there so that we could drop our bags, open a bottle of wine, relax and enjoy the view from the terrace. We travelled the whole of Malta and Gozo using public transport - from Mater Dei Hospital you can reach all areas. Takes a bit of working out and the first two days were confusing, even the Maltese bus drivers were getting use to the system. It is cheap, about 10 Euros for 7 days transport. The Apartment was clean, modern and comfortable. Having a waterbed at home we were surprised how good Richard's mattress was. The free Internet was great to check up on our business at home. Richard's help was only a phone call away should we have had problems or needed information. The kitchen had all the basics and we tended to cook instead of eat out as we were tired from our days adventures. The little Grocery store down stairs had all we needed for breakfast and dinner and a good supply of cheap, good quality maltese wine. Great was also the Vegetable Truck that stopped every night before the house. We would totally recommend Richard's apartment to all our friends and family and all who read this. We are from Germany and it could be difficult for non-english speaking people to find their way around away from the big hotels. Definitely THE LOCATION for all those wanting something different to hotel life. Thanks again Richard. It was most memorable.

The apartment is in a residential area away from the coast and the tourist hustle and bustle which we found was a bonus. It is spacious , clean and well maintained, a real home from home. Large terrace with BBQ, loungers, a small, low table with seating and with views over a huge part of the island.It would have been nice to have had a dining table on the terrace too although there are big doors on to the terrace right by the interior dining table so we tended to open those up when dining so we felt as though we were outdoors.It has an en suite shower room plus additional bathroom. Huge bedroom with lots of storage and even fluffy towelling robes were provided with the linen. Free wifi and computer is a bonus as is washing machine and a phone with free local calls which also accepts calls. Richard the owner is a superb host, friendly and helpful, he has thought of everything to make the place comfortable and is at the end of the phone whenever he is needed.There is a great little supermarket downstairs, open 7 days a week and selling superb fresh bread. There are no bars or restaurants in the area which was fine for us but may be a problem for some people. All parts of the island are easily accessible from here, great for Valletta and Three cities and also for Mdina and Rabbat , although the road network can be confusing close to the apartment, Richard actually lent us a Garmin which was very kind.Plenty of parking on local roads. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it, a great apartment for independent travellers.

On arrival (and departure) having a taxi organised by Richard was a huge plus and enabled us to have a stress-free trip to/from the airport.
The apartment was lovely, well-stocked,clean and spacious. It was located well for getting around the island, despite us finding the roads bewildering at times! The times we got lost/confused, trying to get from A to B, but we did manage to see /visit everything we intended! With it being Easter, our primary reason for the holiday was to experience the huge processions held on the island to mark Good Friday and Easter Sunday.On both days we visited Quormi.
Our favourite places were probably the old temples, Mdina, Marsaxlokk and Valletta.
With a supermarket a door or two away, it was easy to get provisions in. Not forgetting the mobile greengrocer/fruiterer who parks outside the apartment everyday.
The terrace at the apartment gave us fantastic views of the island, which at Eastertime included fireworks, churches lit up at night and a thunder-storm!
All in all, we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend it to friends and family.

We stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks for our honeymoon and loved every minute!! We also hired the car that can come with the apartment which was great. It meant we could go out and about as we pleased. The apartment was perfect. I huge roof terrace with great views especially during the Festa season. The kitchen was well equipped and the air con was a god send!! I couldnt recommend this place highly enough. There is a perfect little store below which offers virtually everything you need and has a very tastey bakery.
The area is perfect to relax after a busy day out and we relaxed instantly which for us was important.
We are looking forward to planning our next trip back in May 2013!!

The apartament is in very good location,very close to the airport.Views from apartament terrace,especialy in evening, is amazing - you can watch for fireworks every evening for few hours.Thank you Mr.Richard for nice holiday!!!

One of the best stays we have had in Malta over the last 15 years.
The aprartment is just fab, richard is also really good and could not be more helpful.
If you are looking for a relaxing time and plenty of private time in the sun, this is the place to be.
The use of the car, when needed was really good.The pick from the ariport and return was also just brillant.
Will stay again at this andy possibly others to rent through Richard.

Our month spent in this apartment was all that we had hoped for. It was modern, well equiped and the terrace had great views. The two of us found it spacious and relaxing to stay here. The apartment had books to read, DVDs to watch and beautifuly indoor plants that added to our holiday experience. We also hired a car from Richard and it was handy to explore the rest of Malta at our leisure. We certainly would stay there again.
