We recently stayed at Villa Madeir and I have to say we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The condo was very spacious (3 bedroom) with a wonderful balcony. It is a corner unit, so the balcony was on two sides (master bedroom/living room and another doorwall on the side by the dining room). The furniture on the balcony was very comfortable (opposed to plastic chairs on so many balconies) - padded chairs, footstools, tables and a picnic table that would easily seat 8 people. The view was fantastic - mornings and evenings watching dolphins swim by. The pool (which was visible from the side balcony) was well maintained and the lounge chairs were plentiful. The covered picnic tables and lounge chairs on the bricked walkway looking out to the water were an extra bonus. John's Pass is 1 mile away, so we walked there every morning along the beach and sometimes in the evening, too.
The kitchen has recently been updated (all new appliances, granite counter tops and new cabinets) and there is ample cookware. A full sized washing machine and dryer in the unit are an added amenity,especially for families. There were games, puzzles and movies to fill in the time you were not enjoying the outdoors - happy to say, we never got a chance to use the extras since the weather was near perfect. There was a high chair and pack and play, which again, I am sure families would appreciate.
Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner, Gid, was very easy to work with and very thoughtfully called during our stay to make sure everything was all right..
I would definitely stay there again.
