Ons bijzondere plekje op een minder toeristisch deel van Bali – waar we na 2 weken Java een weekje wilden relaxen voordat we door zouden gaan naar Sulawesi – hebben we gevonden: Mola-Mola, het in Balinese stijl opgetrokken verblijf van Will en Carla.
Een plekje waar we ons meteen welkom wisten door de tropische vruchten in de fruitschaal en het koele lokale bier in de koelkast – buurvrouw annex gastvrouw Margreet (die daar met haar Jos een Zwitserleventje leidt) had keurig voor onze eerste levensbehoeften gezorgd.

Ons verblijf is onvergetelijk geweest en was werkelijk van alle gemakken en wensen voorzien.

We noemen de belangrijkste:

? Informatie bij de hand: vraag het gewoon aan Margreet. Wil je bijvoorbeeld snorkelen of duiken? Margreet weet het wat-waar-wie-en-hoe.
? Uitstapje plannen: vraag het aan Putu en je krijgt suggesties. Hij rijdt je naar waar je maar heen wilt.
? Honger, of gewoon trek: het Bamboo restaurantje van Rai is op 100 meter. Je kunt haar ook een complete maaltijd aan huis laten bezorgen (vraag ook naar de eigengemaakte sambal !)
? In en rondom het huis wordt dagelijks schoongemaakt (ook het zwembad: er lijkt wel gedestilleerd water in te zitten).
? Bier op? Even voorbij het Bamboo restaurant is een ‘Super’.
? Winkelen? Het dorp met leuke zzp-zaakjes is op loopafstand.
? Relaxen? Mola-Mola heeft heerlijke ligstoelen met flinke parasols waar het heerlijk wegdromen is.
? TV, muziek? We hebben alleen maar gekeken of de TV werkte en geconstateerd dat er meer dan 100 zenders te ontvangen zijn. Ook hadden we met de branding op de achtergrond gewoon niet de behoefte om andere muziek op te zetten.

Het mag duidelijk zijn: we komen zeker nog terug op Bali – en nog zekerder in Mola-Mola.

Bijzondere noot over Putu:
Putu woont in Candi Dasa en vervoert de gasten van Mola-Mola van en naar het vliegveld. Hij is geen officiële gids, maar van alle gidsen met wie we op Java en Sulawesi te maken hebben gehad hebben we aan hem de beste herinneringen. Hij is vriendelijk, bescheiden en discreet, niet opdringerig en hij komt afspraken stipt na.
Wij bevelen hem dan ook van harte aan voor excursies op het eiland.

This apartment can only recommend
We spent two weeks Candi Dasassa.
Everything is exactly as Will permited:
- Cozy and clean apartment
- Warm sea (behind the sea wall is perfect place to snorkeling)
- The friendly staff
- Always warm (deep) pool

When we arrived in Singapore to Bali. Driver was waiting for us, as had been agreed. Transport delivery was fast and safe.

Later Putu, the driver, transported us everywhere where we just hoped

Candi Dasa is a great place if you want to make a small trip around Bali.
Travelling with children succeed in Bali as well.

We saw:
- Rice paddies and coffee plantations
- Ubud town (I recommed for shopping)
- The best beaches ever (white sand beach)

We did:
- Riding elephants
- We did amazing water rafting in jungle
- Snorkeled in sea as on feeling: I'm in middle of the "aquarium" (a lot of fish)

Bali is a beautiful, safe, affordable, and the people are very friendly.
I can only recommend, as well as the Bali and Candi Dasa.

The apartment is really worth of the money. We also got a lot of help with trip planning before the trip. Thank you Will! I hope we could sometimes come back to Bali.

We hebben genoten van een week verblijf in villa Mola Mola. Schitterende villa direct aan een klein strand met snorkel mogelijkheid direct voor de deur. De Nederlandse buurvrouw heeft ons goed geholpen met tips over de omgeving en de goede restaurantjes. Het is wel een eindje lopen naar het centrum van Candi Dasa langs een drukke weg, maar het is goed te doen. Er zijn ook in de directe omgeving een aantal goede en zeer goedkope restaurantjes (warungs) en supermarktjes. In Doni's Warung aten en dronken we met 4 personen voor minder dan 10 euro. Echt aan te raden om de plaatselijke warungs te proberen in plaats van de grotere (en duurdere) westerse restaurants.
Huis, tuin en zwembad worden dagelijks schoon gehouden door een tuinman en schoonmaakster.
Echt een aanrader.

We had an amazing 9 days at this villa with our family. We have 2 children aged 8 and 10 yrs and it was perfect. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed and the pool was just gorgeous. We had it to ourselves every day, and we were very lucky with the weather for the time of year. The only negative was that the air-conditioner in one of the bedrooms broke on the second or third day and it wasn't able to be repaired before we left.

Thank you so much to Jos and Magreet of next door who gave us all sorts of advice on things to do, got us the first bits of food shopping in, and arranged massages by the pool and a driver to take us wherever we wanted to go for not too much extra. The housekeeper cleaned the villa very thoroughly every day and the villa was therefore kept clean and tidy.

Magreet gave us heaps of suggestions for dinner and we went to a different restaurant every night, all local for reasonable cost. Also, the little cafe around the corner was great for a local lunch.

We would say if you wanted to watch DVDs, you would need to bring your own or go to the local DVD shop, but we never got round to this as the weather was so great!

All in all, thoroughly recommended and we would love to visit again in the future!

We started our holiday by staying at Mola mola. I wish we could have stayed for the entire time.
The pictures are exactly to what you will get plus more. The view is amazing, the house is very spacious, clean and contained everything you need.

The pool is beautiful and personally I loved the fact that there was a shallow pool which the kids loved playing in (5 year old). However with the armbands on they were able to enjoy the big pool also. The location is perfect! It's only a couple of min drive to the main street. There is a little shop around the corner where you can get the essentials. The staff are very friendly and ensured that the garden and house was tidy every single morning. The sun beds were set ready for you to soak up the sun and dream away looking over the ocean. Next door neighbours Margreet and Jos were also a wonderful help and a joy to meet and connect with.

This is definitely a place that will not let you down. We stayed a week, family of 6 and we all had a wonderful time. We will definitely come back and I would recommend this to anyone.

I stayed only days at Molamola with a friend but it was very very relaxing. The area is beautifull and very different from what we had already seen from Bali; Candidasa is not so touristic but still has the facilities you want on your holiday, the vegetation in this area seems somehow of a richer green. Great palmtrees too ; - ). The villa is perfectly equiped and tastefully decorated, the view (over the big infinity pool) is simply stunning. We did some snorkeling as we did nog have time to make a real 'dive' and I was amazed by the colorfull fish and reef.
I can highly recommend this villa to everybody who wants to spend some time in luxury paradise.

Fantastic bungalow in Candidasa! The size, layout and description of the place were very accurate. My whole family loved it. The owner, Will helped us arrange trasportation from the airport which was very convenient. Putu, our driver from and to the airport provided a great service, speaks very good English. The driving time from airport to Candidasa is about 1h 30m, depending on the traffic but Putu made this feel very short by answering all our questions about Bali. Than you Putu!

We arrive to the bungalow past 10pm and it was a great relief to see there were basic groceries for us to eat a late snack and breakfast in the morning. Margareet helped us arranging these groceries for us and the next day she explained all the details we had to know about the area and recommendations for places to eat and have fun. She was fantastic!

Overall, we had a great experience and we recommend this property to anyone that wants to have a relaxing time in Bali.

We sepnt Christmas and new year at Molamola and to be honest my frst impression on arrival was thast we were very remote and too far from shops and restaurants. However, after only a day or two our opinion changed totally. We had utter seclusion and were able to relax totally looking at the most beutiful sunsets from our villa. There were enough shops and restauarants close enough to walk to and when we wanted to join the crowds it was easy to book a car and driver and then be able to retreat to our peaceful haven for a dip in the virtually private pool. We had the best of both worlds.
The listing was very accurate and when I asked the owner questions - in particular about the beach, he was very honest and even sent me photo's. On one item he was being conservative - we were expecting to be slightly further from the beach but were delighted we were much close than we thought - happily so as we could hear the sea from the patio! For a family who can't live without tv - the satellite choices are limited, but who needs tv when you have a beautiful vista outside your door.
The property is well maintained and we were very well looked after by the staff and will's friend Margreet who lives nexct door. Customer service therefore was outstanding.
I'd recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax by a pool for most of their holiday and throw in a bit of sightseeing, shopping etc. We went to the volcano and white water rafting - fantastic - it was my first time (Baliview white water rafting).However, if you're a keen diver this is also definately the place for you - there is a dive school next door.
We self catered and the only tip I'd give is shop at Carrefour directly from the airport as its a one and half hour trip back to stock up - having said that we made it into a day trip to Kuta.
There is no oven or microwave but that's no problem if you buy accordingly. With picky children it's much easier to cook at home or get takeaways.The property is used by the owner so there are plenty of pans and utensils - even a liquidiser for making smoothies with the lovely fresh fruit.
This is probably one of the few main holidays I've had where I would go back and was actually sad on the last day to be leaving. thanks Will - you have a lovely villa. Happy new year.
