Great place to stay and relax

Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We have been to this area 6 times now and have stayed in this villa twice. It is in a great location near to a nature reserve(and yes you will see plenty of wildlife). During our last stay (23rd July to 6th Aug) we saw gators, snakes and lots of other things too.

Stephen and Karin, the owners, are great to deal with as are Karen and Kurt, the reps. in Florida.

Book with total confidence for a trouble free, great holiday location.

Super Rotonda West Villa

Macdee Argyll, Scotland
Review Submitted: June 14, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
'Osprey' is a beautifully maintained and well equipped villa including books, CDs, DVDs and lots of local information. It really did not feel like a 'rental', more like a luxurious home from home.

The location is so peaceful and as the villa is on an oversize plot, it provides excellent privacy and total relaxation.

For outdoors, there are bicycles (with helmets), beach chairs and cool box. The area is ideal for cycling as it is flat with a lot of fairly quiet roads and many little bridges overlooking canals to stop and view the wildlife.

Stump Pass beach is approximately 15 minutes drive and is quite quiet particularly on weekdays. It also has a nature trail which can provide some welcome shade. Boca Grand beach has miles of magnificent white sand and is certainly worth a visit.

Shopping: Port Charlotte Mall (about 20 minutes' drive) has all the usual stores - J C Penney, Dillards, Bealls, Sears and Macy's; it also has a cinema showing current movies. Prime Outlets at Ellenton, and Miromar at Estero, are about 1 hour's drive North and South respectively; they have some big label names at competitive prices.

From first enquiry, the owners were helpful, informative and very pleasant to deal with.

I cannot imagine that anyone would fail to be impressed with this beautiful home/location.

Osprey

Outstanding location and curb appeal with loads of room backing onto a river and nature reserve and exactly as described. The welcoming call by the owners was a nice touch to the start of our Christmas vacation. The home is spotless and very well equipped. The bicycles were a nice
treat also as the neighbourhood is very quiet and conducive to biking. The pool area and the double lot the home sits on, are both extermely large, so lots of room for loungers inside and out, and the hot tub is a nice treat. The book at the home with area restaurant menus and attraction information is a nice informative idea. Beaches are numerous and are within short drives as is great shopping at large malls nearby.
A great location for a quiet vacation with as much or as little to do and we look forward to our repeat stay at Osprey during Christmas 2008.

Fantastic Florida Holiday Home

Review Submitted: May 26, 2008 Date of Stay: April 2008
This property offers everything one could need for a really excellent and relaxing holiday close to nature and wonderful beaches.
We found the house exactly as it had been described and it was presented in excellent order all round. The owners kindly contacted us during our stay to ensure that all was well and offer information on local attractions, restaurants etc.
I would not hesitate to recommend this particular holiday home to families or two couples as we were. The facilities were all adequate to cope with 6 people very comfortably plus a couple of youngsters.
You would definitely need to hire a car when hiring this property and that will give the freedom to investigate and enjoy all the local islands and beaches as well as visiting the excellent discount malls.
A great morning for those who love deserted beaches is to take the Ferry to Knight Island (also known as Palm Island). Leave the car by the sidewalk and go over on foot. The ferry is only about 15 minutes drive from this house. Take a short walk straight ahead and then turn left when the first beach sign appears. There are no facilities here so wear loads of sun lotion, a hat and take plenty to drink. We never stay later than mid-day as it would get a bit too hot.
There's a fantastic beach at Siesta Key, the sand there never gets hot and is like white powder to walk on. It can get a bit crowded there though so chose your time to visit carefully.

Outstanding Osprey!

Our 7th return visit to Rotunda and first stay at Osprey. The villa is superbly located at the very edge of the "circle" next door to the Charlotte state park. Its in a very quiet and peaceful area with lots of wildlife to view from the doorstep. The Villa is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. It is extremely well equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable and has bikes to use which is great for cycling as its so flat! The pool is well maintained and warm with the jacuzzi which is a nice extra.
The owners are discreet but attentive and are extremely helpful from first enquiry to end of stay.
The villa is a short drive from some of the best state park beaches, Stump Pass, Blind Pass and Gasparilla Island. There are good restaurants nearby: The Fishery at Placida is a must, with good Supermarkets for stocking up nearby. Its a fantastic area that is superbly placed if you want to visit Orlando, Tampa, The Everglades or Miami - they are still a fair way away but an easy drive on the interstate highway.
State parks offer Kayaking and walking, fishing and big fishing are also available both on the Gulf and rivers. There is lots of Golf with some good courses on Rotunda if you play.
