The cottage is a perfect size for a couple. The photos are totally accurate. It is nicely furnished,
very clean and stocked with anything you could possibly need for your stay. It truly is only a few steps to the most incredible beach....miles of blue blue water and white sand. It is a great beach to take walks on and the water is warm and great for swimming (no giant waves). The store is just steps away as well and has great take out food (or you can eat in) as well as any grocery items, beer, wine etc you may need. There are also a number of larger grocery stores and restaurants in Kailua just a short drive from the cottage. There was a family staying in the house on the property as well the same time we were there. It was not an inconvenience in any way to have them next door. We would certainly stay here again if the opportunity came up.

Perfect little place to stay

The cottage left nothing to be desired. It is clean, cute, and cozy. Everything we need to make our own meals was there. It's the perfect walk to a beautiful beach. The place has a lovely yard that was nice to just chill out on the lawn chairs. The bed is super comfy! The windows open throughout the place to let in the perfect breeze and you can hear all the tropical birds singing. It was like being in Disneyland's Tiki Room, but all of Hawaii is that way.
I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit!

Perfect in every way!

We just returned from a fabulous stay in Kailua. Mahalo for your your lovely rental! The house and cottage far exceeded our expectations. It is very clean and there is plenty of space for families or couples. It had everything we needed and more! We love the layout of this home. It felt so good to open the windows and enjoy the soft island breezes. Just wonderful! The location is perfect. We enjoyed morning walks to Kailua Beach and Lanikai. We loved cooking on the grill for family dinners and took long afternoon naps. We also walked to Kailua Town to enjoy the shops and restaurants and had a fabulous massage at Lomilomi Hana Lima. The Windward side of Oahu is just beautiful and the mountains are amazing. We also toured Kualoa Ranch and visited the Macadamia Nut Farm. We felt completely at home. Highly recommend this rental! Mahalo!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was an easy walk to a great beach and the store. The store was so convenient to grab a salad or sandwich at very reasonable prices so you didn't have to think about having food on hand. There was a great trove of beach chairs, boogey boards, coolers, fins, etc. The place was very clean with nice furnishings. This is a one bedroom cottage and just right for a couple. Another family was renting the larger home in front and that really wasn't a problem. We would certainly come back for another stay.

Having spent many summers in Kailua as a kid I was very concerned as to location and amenities for my stay in Hawaii. This little cottage is great. While other rentals will say, “steps from the beach” this place really is. The 250 steps is an exaggeration. Although it is not on the beach it is very close. Not only did we walk to the beach, but we also walked to world famous “Buzz’s Steakhouse”, Island Snow and the local market. The cottage has everything needed for a long or short term stay. Although we did not use the AC, it is available if needed. The washer and dryer were great to have and very easy to use. My 8 yr old loved to throw the football in the back yard and the included boogie boards, beach chairs, beach toys, fishing pole, coolers, etc. were an added bonus. We even took advantage of the DVD collection. Can’t wait to go back and stay here again.

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute trip to Hawaii at the end of January for the pro bowl in Honolulu. We got lucky that this cute cottage was available after our weekend in Waikiki. This place was great for two people seeking rest and relaxation. Perfect location near the great market on the corner and within walking distance to the beautiful beach. Also within walking distance to where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Would definitely stay here again!!

We stayed here for one week in October 2011. Everything is just as stated in the property discription. I don't think we could have picked a more perfect property. A short walk each morning to watch the sunrise, stop for coffee at the market on our way back to the property...a great way to start the day. Having access to the beach chairs and ice chests were a big plus. We will definitely check the availabilty of this property before scheduling our next trip to Oahu.

Perfect for couple or small family!

My husband, 15 month old daughter and I had a wonderful time in this cottage. It has everything you need and the location is fantastic. We enjoyed our days at the beach (such a short walk!) and our evenings grilling on the patio. In fact, we loved the property so much that we're taking our whole family back. We'll be in the house and cottage this time!

Perfect location, wonderful cottage

We really lucked out with this place -- it was our first time using VRBO, and we could not have asked for a better experience! The cottage's location is unbeatable -- less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, the amazing market (I miss Dot, the cat, already!), Buzz's, Island Snow, etc. And the cottage itself has every amenity we could want -- washer/dryer, tv/dvds, peaceful lanai, and fun beach toys! The bed was very comfortable, and it was really nice having the overhead fan. We also greatly appreciated the very thorough binder of information -- it was extremely helpful. Overall, an amazing experience. We will return!

Cute, Cozy Cottage in Kailua

My husband and I stayed in the cottage for a week (after spending a week in Waikiki). We were pleased to find the cottage very clean, nicely furnished, and a brief walk to the beach - exactly as advertised. We really enjoyed the well-equipped full kitchen and grilling out on the patio. We also appreciated having a ready selection of movies as we stayed in one night after a busy day. Being able to do laundry on-site was a big convenience. Also - and very important for me, I slept very comfortably during my stay, using the air conditioner to keep the place cool and quiet at night (as we kept the place open during the day).
While the Hilton at which we stayed in Waikiki was fancy and glamorous, this place had a familiar, comfortable, home-away-from home feel that made it more appealing to me. I would highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back, stress-free, peaceful and cozy environment
I would also like to note that the owner was extremely thorough in answering all of my questions. She even provided additional pictures of the cottage interior and contact information for a reference when I asked.
Overall, it was wonderful place to stay, and I would stay here again if I return to Kailua.
Note to other potential guests: Make sure to have a meal at Buzz's steakhouse - it is a short walk from the cottage and the food, mixed drinks, and service are excellent.
