We had a great time here over the summer. The place is fantastic and Curemonte itself is extremelly picturesque. Tony and Anne really are fantastic hosts and couldn't do enough to help. This place is very much recommended to everyone !

A very douce France and a beautiful little house

The house was totally satisfying, so the view and the general mood it inspired. The owners were very kind and efficient, providing an overall excellent customer assistance.
The property is strategically placed for many interesting one- or half-day trips; we practised canoeing on the Dordogne, and visited the incredible Lascaux Caves.
France was trés douce, indeed.
Absolutely recommended!

Peaceful retreat in rural France

Review Submitted: June 7, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Having just returned from a lovely week at this cottage, we wanted to thank Anne and Tony for a relaxing, picturesque break in a delightful village.

The cottage is very pretty and has eveything you would need. We spent very little time inside as the weather was goregous and the view from the sunbeds or many outdoor seating areas was too much to resist.

Well located with amenaties near by (although a car is required), access to several near by villages with an abundance of restaurants shops etc.

We cannot recommend this holiday enough, and we will certainly be returning to recharge our batteries again!

Thanks

Michael and Kathryn

The cottage has stunning views,is surrounded by gorgeous flower pots and is located only about six kilometers north to the river Dordogne. If you enjoy the countryside, you like a bit of quite and a taste of culture and you don't look for fancy accomodation, this is the place for you.The couple that they own it, are very friendly and knowledgeable and the accomodation is rustic, clean and you get all the basics. There is a seperate entrance downstairs where the kitchen/dining area is, which was handy for us to use when we were coming in with heavy bags as the staicasse from the bedroom to the kitchen is a bit small and you have to watch yourself.(not ideal for people with mobility problems). There is a v.small pool which is great to cool down on a hot afternoon or late in the evening looking at the stars! About an hours drive is the lovely old town of Brive where is plenty to see & there is the' festival de la Vezere' between the 8th/7-end of August with recitals, opera, choirs, spectacles. We really enjoyed it last year and you can find info from the local T.Inf.office.There isnt any night life in the village of Curemonte and a car is a must.Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is a nice lively village about 30 min away & if you are into sports, there is a start point for doing cayak at Bretenoux.

If your wanting a get away from it all holiday to re-charge the battery's, this is the place for you. the view from the cottage/pool is fantastic ! The cottage is comfortable for two with everything you need for your stay, not that you will be indoors much ! location is great for days out with many things to see & do only a short drive away, if you can tear yourself away ! Anne & Tony are a lovely couple & on hand if anything is needed, but will leave you to your own devises, supermarket/bread 10 mins by car. Would definitely recommend this holiday to anyone but would really like to keep this one to ourselves ! Thanks to you both for a great holiday, hopefully see you next year

A beautiful escape

Fantastic location. The photos are surpassed by the reality. The cottage is split-level, rustic but clean, modern and comfortable. The owners have carefully thought to provide many places to sit or dine outdoors to catch the sun. It is quiet, refreshing, peaceful, and you will probably tend to spend most of your time in and around the property, such is its charm. We would recommend it to anyone. The owners are on hand but never intrude. Want to escape for a while? come here.
