Fantastic View and good hosts
We stayed in this vacation rental from September 19-October 5th. We chose it as it is very close to family and everything that we wanted to see. We are very glad we stayed here because the house was great for our needs, Rosmaire our host was very nice and willing to help with anything we needed. It is a very nice home with plenty of space. Rosmarie was friendly and checked in on us from time to time to make sure we had what we needed.
We rented the 2 bedroom upper unit. There is also a 1 bedroom lower unit. Rosmaire lives right next door and was very helpful. Booking and check in was very easy. We had enough parking for 2 cars.
The home is exactly as shown in the pictures. The view is much better in person. The patio has enough space for 4 adults to sit and look over the valley and watch the sunset. The kitchen has plenty of space and has everything you need. Bedrooms are spacious and the beds are clean and comfortable. A king bed in one bedroom and a double bed and single bed in the second bedroom. There is no internet, so you must go to town to use the internet at a cafe.
Ihrlerstein a 1/2 km to the north and Kelheim 1 km down the hill. Everything is close, you will find very nice resturants, groceries, bakeries, butcher shops and more. There is not a lot of tourism, but rather a very nice little town. The food is fantastic and the beer is even better ! The prices in town are very reasonable to buy everything you need.
We did not stay much at the rental other than to sleep. We spent most of our time out looking at the neighboring towns and cities.
Make sure to visit the Befreiungshalle on the hill, you see it really nice from the patio of the rental. Take the boat ride to the Weltenburg, a Monk Brewery and Monestary, there is a nice church to see, a brewery and more. The boat ride has nice views and the area in Weltenburg is very beautiful.
It is only a short 20 minutes to Regensburg, where down by the river the shops, pubs, cafes and views are amzing. An hour to Munich and close to 2 hours to Salzburg Austria, there is so much to see.
If you go in late September, you must go to Oktoberfest in Munich. The
Kuchlbauer Brauerei in Abensberg is also a must see.
The only thing I could say is that the time we spent in the area was not long enough. If we ever make it back there to the same spot we would definitely consider staying at this rental again.
