Villa Jakita is a wonderful holiday home in an absolutely fantastic position. The views all around are AMAZING, every window having a visual delight to behold! We are a family of 6 and the villa was perfect in size for us, more than enough space for all of us and equipped with everything we needed - a real home from home. The showers in particular were great, children's hair rinsed in under 30 seconds they are so powerful! It is a beautifully designed villa, light, bright and airy and really very comfortable. The location for us with 4 children was perfect, no near neighbours, in fact no buildings in front, behind or to the left of the property (other than some lovely old windmills). The closest neighbours (delightful) about 200m away, far enough not to feel overlooked. The property doesn't really have a garden as such, but the lovely pool and surrounding patio area are spacious, well equipped and nicely private. Th front garden and sides are mainly hard standing but beautifully landscaped. Our 4 children didn't need anything more than the pool, so it was perfect for us Small children would need watching in the pool as there are quite big drops from 3 sides, but this does make for a spectacular swimming experience!! It would be hard to fault this property. Elounda itself is lovely, a happy, safe, friendly little place with a HUGE choice of places to eat. We were there for 3 weeks and didn't have a single bad meal, food delicious everywhere, all 4 of our children tucked in to the local food with relish and they are all vegetarian - plenty of choice. All the staff we met were lovely, the villa was cleaned twice weekly with fresh towels and bedding each time and the local knowledge and insider information they have made for some great trips and good food! There is a sweet little taverna just 2 minutes slow walk down the hill from the villa, well worth a visit or two. To sum up, we have been to some lovely places as a family on our various holidays and our rule is we never go back to the same place twice, but having stayed in Villa Jakita and with so much to see and do on Crete, we would be sorely tempted to break that rule for the first time! A highly recommended holiday home.

Perfect villa (so pretty, so comfortable, so quiet) with a splendid and extraordinary view upon Elounda Bay : we spent here two weeks of happiness, we had never been so close to the gods, we now understand why Zeus and the european civilization were born in Crete... Thanks to Minos, Ariane, Paul, Lenny and everybody who made it real !

The villa has stunning views over the bay of Elounda and we particularly enjoyed swimming in the infinity pool. It is spacious, immaculately clean and equipped with everything one could possibly want. We liked the fact that all the bedrooms have their own patio on which to enjoy a peaceful morning tea/coffee. Watching the sunrise over Elounda was a magical experience. Although our party was reduced to four, a result of volcanic ash issuing from a volcano in Iceland, the villa would comfortably acommodate 8 people! We appreciated the clean carried out half way through the week and the iron proved very useful in preparation for my daughter's beach wedding, the purpose of our visit to Crete. The entire wedding party enjoyed a barbecue the following evening at the villa and eating out in the tavernas in Elounda. A hire car was essential although we enjoyed walking the footpaths down hill to Elounda to collect our car, left in the village after the wedding.
A boat trip to the island of Spinalonga was both interesting and enjoyable learning more about the island's history, comparing the layout with the way it is described in Victoria Hislops book, and absorbing the atmosphere of this former leper colony.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the villa to family and friends wishing to holiday in this lovely part of Crete.

We were told that the view would be even better than the listing pictures and it certainly is so - nothing detracts from the simply stunning view and setting of this villa. Inside, the villa meets virtually all needs – minimilist modern stylish décor, fabulously comfortable beds, spacious rooms, modern bathrooms, generously sized heatable pool, – its all there. They even supply luxury white towelling gowns for lounging around in. We struggled to think of a negative – you do need a car & the last stretch to get to the villa is a little hair-raising. However, in 12 years of staying in villas across the Med, this comes top.

A very clean,well-maintained property. It has an ideal layout for a holiday home, and is extremely well fitted out and furnished. All the technology works and it has a cool interior, with supremely comfortable beds. The kitchen is short a dry goods cupboard/larder but one would have to be very fussy to find physical fault with this property.
The elevated location benefits from fantastic views of Elounda and is close to the village and all its facilities.
I would not hesitate to recommend this gem.
