This was our sixth successive annual stay at the High Mesa cottage. Again, a very enjoyable experience with full amenities, well appointed, quiet and somewhat secluded yet convenient to the Taos Ski Valley and the Town of Taos.The sunrises and sunsets, easily observable through the high, well placed windows, are always inspiring. The owners are thoughtful in their continuing improvements to the home and are very accessable and interested in the renter's experience.

Thoroughly enjoyed the return visit to High Mesa Cottage and will definitely be back. The listing description and pictures are very true. The house is very comfortable and amenities are very nice. The views are great especially from the hot tub. Would highly recommend to others.

This house was the perfect place to stay for our vacation in Taos. The sunsets and sunrises are beautiful with the mountain ranges in the background. They even have a telescope that my husband used to look at the moon and Jupiter! As a certified germaphobe, who hates staying at hotels (but loves to travel), I would give this place a 5/5 on cleanliness and comfort. Probably the cleanest place, hotel or house, that I"ve ever stayed on vacation. This house is a quick 20 minute drive into town and within 30 minutes of the Taos ski valley and the Rio grande gorge bridge, which made our hiking trails a quick car ride away. I would recommend this place to any of my friends who are looking for a place to stay in Taos.

This home was everything advertised and more. The owners were helpful and even had Happy Birthday spelled out in blocks across the fireplace mantel - a nice touch. The beds were comfortable, the views were gorgeous, the hot tub a perfect place to be when the sun set. With very little artificial light, the stars were amazing.

On a girl's trip with 5 of us, we stayed for 4 days in October. The property was even better than we had anticipated! The pictures just didn't do it justice. The kitchen was well laid out and had everything you could possibly need in the way of cooking utensils, spices and electronic appliances. We loved the addition of the butcher block island -- how convenient! We even had a bottle of wine waiting for us in the fridge! The beds were wonderfully comfortable and roomy, the towels were plush and luxurious, and there was plenty of space for all of us to sprawl through the house without getting in each other's way. The bedroom layout was wonderful for privacy -- none of the bedrooms shared a wall, yet they were all very convenient to the rest of the house. There was tons of closet space, plenty of hangers, and the full size washer and dryer (laundry soap provided) were great. The hot tub was amazing, and so were the stars at night. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and well landscaped. From one side of the house, you can watch the sunrise, and from the other, the sunset. The location was a little ways out of town, but the directions provided were perfect -- we drove straight to it the first time, and were easily able to get back and forth after that. We really liked the location for our purposes -- we were able to head north to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and onto the Enchanted Circle scenic byway (both highly recommended activities) without the hassle of the Taos in-town traffic, yet we were still less than 10 minutes from the center of town. We were truly sorry when we had to leave and I wish now we would have stayed in Taos for our entire vacation.

We loved the Old Blinking Light for dinner (very close to the house) and they also had an outstanding wine shop -- very convenient! For breakfast, Michael's Bakery was close and has excellent food and service. For great Mexican hot cocoa, Purple Sage on the other side of town was fantastic.

On the Enchanted Circle scenic byway, Red River has the Candy Crate -- a wonderful selection of New Mexico foods, homemade candies, and a fabulous proprietor -- and Fast Eddie's was THE place for jeep tours. They also have ATV & snowmobiling, and the jeep tour was so great, we'll definitely be returning for both of those! The people running the show were so accommodating, and showed us a great time for a great price!

Bottom line, the house was wonderful - rent it! You won't regret it!
