Wir haben uns super wohlgefühlt in dem gemütlichen, gepflegten Haus oben auf dem steilen Hügel über Balestrate. Schön war der Blick von der Terrasse aufs blaue Meer. Alles war so, wie im Angebot beschrieben. Nur die köstlichen Zitronen - frisch gepflückt aus dem Garten von Andrea und Girolamo - standen nicht im Netz. Auch die Tipps der beiden zu Aktivitäten und Restaurants vor Ort waren hilfreich. Ostern ist eine spannende Zeit auf Sizilien. Hier wird richtig groß und christlich gefeiert – mit traditionellem Palmenumzug (Balestrate), beeindruckender Karfreitagsprozession (Erice) und einem Tanz von Tod und Teufeln am Ostersonntag (Prizzi). Das Wetter war angenehm warm (23 – 27 Grad), die Insel wunderbar grün. Das Casale Mare hat uns für eine Woche lang ab von jeglichem Trubel einen schönen Urlaub auf Sizilien gegönnt. Die Wohnung ist gepflegt und verfügt über alles notwendige. Sie ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge - dabei sollte man beachten, dass ein Auto erforderlich ist!

Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Wir würden die FeWo wieder buchen. :-)

5 of us stayed here for two weeks in June. All of us thought the villa was very nice. It had everything you could need.

The beds are really comfortable.

We really enjoied the beach just 500 metres away from the house.

Bars on the beach and in Balrstrate were excellent points to enjoy drinks.

This is a fantastic base for your holiday infact everywhere is within easy reach.
Local restaurants offer good food.

We have been enjoying our stay in Balestrate. The house is large enough, even with visiting friends, and well equipped. Actually we have been living outside most of the time and the large shaddy area is than very comfortable. After a while it really felt as our house! Nice view on the sea and walking distance to the beach and the town.

Staying three months in a house ask other things from a house than staying for just one week. A reason to buy plants for example. We needed also more space to dry our laundry. We like the outdoor construction of the house, we could simply create there a line for the wash and mount the hangmat. We like to have more light on the terracce in september, so we used the standing lamp from inside outdoors. And we liked it that, espavilly sith the contineous floor, it was easy to do the cleaning, which of course had to be done also more often.

It was a pity the airco didn't work prerly for a while when we really wanted to us it, but it was clear you did your best to solve the problem as soon as we mentioned it.
The internet was working fine. For direct emailing you need the outgoing adress of the provider, which I found out is out.alice.it; maybe good to add to the information.

Allthough Balestrate in it self is not very interesting, it has everything you need for a stay and it is only a short trip to Palermo, Trapani, Segesta, Erice, etc

Again, thanks for the dinner at your house, it was a very nice evening with good food!
We will have nice memories of our stay here and who knows will come back oneday.

Jeg ”flygter” gerne fra det triste danske november vejr til Sicilien. Sidste år havde jeg for første gang fornøjelsen at bo i hos Andrea og Girolamo i Balestrate i deres Casa Scirocco. Det var en rigtig god oplevelse som jeg gerne ville have gentaget i år. Desværre var jeg lidt sent på og lejligheden var lejet ud. Heldigvis har Andrea og Girolamo flere muligheder og jeg fik tre uger i deres herlige hus Casa Mare. Der er to lejligheder i huset og som sådan er det særdeles velegnet hvis man har lyst til at tage på ferie med venner eller familie. I mit tilfælde var jeg alene af sted og min lejlighed med dets tre soveværelser gav mig rigelig plads. Der er et fint indrettet køkken og med de mange indkøbsmuligheder man har i Balestrate, lavede jeg selv min mad de fleste dage. En novemberaften kan også blive lidt halv køligt på Sicilien (sådan ca. 16 grader!!!), her er huset så smart indrettet, at der er en overdækket terrasse og der sad jeg mange aftener bare med en trøje på og nød stemningen. Jeg havde en del arbejde på computeren jeg skulle have ordnet i de tre uger og derfor var det vigtigt, at huset har en stabil internetforbindelse. Endda på terrassen kunne jeg sidde med min computer. Folk i Balestrate er utrolig åben og hjælpsom og jeg har fået en del gode bekendte og det på trods af min manglende italienske sprogkundskaber? Andrea og Girolamo er rigtig sød og altid klar hvis man har brug for tips og hjælp. Begge snakker fremragende tysk. Og så laver Girolamo selv sit olivenolie…..og DET smager bare himmelsk!

Gut ausgestattete Doppelhaushälfte, alles sehr sauber, ausreichend Schränke, große Terrasse auf die am Spätnachmittag noch die Sonne hinkommt mit schönem Blick zum Meer. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und unkompliziert.
Als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge ganz gut, man ist schnell auf der Autobahn und in 40 Minuten in Palermo. Will man in Palermo mit dem Auto fahren, dann möglichst mit Navi, da findet man ein Parkhaus oder -platz und auch wieder raus aus der Stadt.
Durch das abgeschlossene Grundstück (autom. Tor) fühlt man sich auch angenehm beruhigt. Und wer Katzen mag, hat vielleicht auch gleich was zum Streicheln.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und fanden, die herrlich warmen Tage waren viel zu schnell vorbei.
Dass es in Sizilien um diese Jahreszeit noch so warm ist, hat uns ziemlich überrascht.
Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder.

We spent a great week at this house, located on the outskirts of Balestrate. The house is well situated with the nearest beach about four minutes walking distance (once you find the proper way round) and has a spectacular view from its terrace. It is cozy and homely and we found it very well suited to all our needs. There is a washing machine in the shed outside as well, which we found very useful. It is a quiet place where one can do pretty much what he wants without being worried about disturbing anyone as long as you keep it sort of reasonable. It really provides a perfect sense of privacy. The only downside is that it really is that if one doesn't have a car, it might be a bit harder to get round Sicily from Balestrate (when we were there, trains went sort of on strike). On the other hand, there is a local tour operator based in Balestrate that provides good value trips to pretty much all destinations on Sicily and despite it's silly name "Simsalabim" has a lot to offer. Their crew is friendly, has perfect English and can take care of all your needs. We also found very helpful that there is a well stocked file in the house containing all the information on local train and bus timetables, contact numbers for local services, tips for trips etc. All in all we had a really enchanting and perfect week that we will never forget. Balestrate is a perfect destination for holiday and Family Mazzola are competent hosts that can take care of their guests extremely well. I can recommend this one to anyone, guys.

Wir kommen seit vielen Jahren nach Balestrate. Immer wieder zur Familie Mazzola, die für uns mittlerweile Freunde geworden sind. Anfangs haben wir noch in Balestrate direkt gewohnt - mittlerweile immer im Casale mare. Für uns der perfekte Urlaub mit netten, hilfsbereiten Gastgebern und einer ruhigen, erholsamen Umgebung.
