Queens Apartment Rental Photos and Description
Studio Apartment Private Street Entrance Kitchen And Spa Bath

Staying in the North End of Astoria - Ditmars Blvd. train station area is the best for those who are looking to enjoy what it is like to live in a Village type atmosphere. Plenty of restaurants, beer gardens, lounges, cafes and yoga studios to keep you busy. If you are here to spend most of your days in Manhattan then Ditmars Blvd. - Astoria Queens is the way to go.

It is the first stop of the N or Q line, you will always have a seat on the train at this station and the best part is that because it is the first stop there are always 2 trains at the stain so no need to stand on the platform in the heat, rain, cold or snow while waiting for the train.

The other advantage to being at Ditmars is that the trains run Express during rush hour so you bypass all the other people waiting at the other stations. The train ride is 12 minutes to 59th Street & Lexington Ave - Midtown. Our place is 5 blocks from the train station and is always busy so don't worry about taking the train late at night and walking home, its very safe especially near our end of Astoria.

It is all new and fully furnished with pots, pans, plates, towels & sheets WIFI and more. Your Suite comes with a complementary Welcome Packet so you can hit the ground running with lots of valuable information for your convenience.

Suite includes separate street entrance, private bath and kitchen, its like having your own apartment in NYC. Kitchen and Bath both have exhaust fans as well as the bathroom having a louvered window like the front storm door. Front garden wall gives privacy from sidewalk.

Most people ask about laundry facility, well we are lucky because there is an Organic Dry cleaner/Laundromat two blocks away on your way to the subway. There is a decorative hamper with a laundry bag right outside the bathroom so that you can place your clothing there and easily use it to transport wash during your stay. You can either have the laundromat pick up and deliver to you or you can walk it over or you can also do your own wash if you prefer.

Most people who stay here use the drop off service on their way to work in the morning and pick it up on the way home in the evening because they are too busy making the most of their time in NYC.

Great for someone who wants to get a feel for what it is like to live in NY in a real apartment not a hotel room.

Ideal for someone who needs a place totally hooked up for a short time while they visit NY, take a class, or need a transitional place while they look for work or a long term rental.

I have had fun decorating the place and take pride in having thought of every little convenience. We rebuilt an old house in Astoria and added on to it that now makes it very modern. We made it as green as possible with 2 tankless water heaters, we installed all natural stone and maple and other materials throughout the place so as to keep it as earthy as possible. We also installed Radiant Floor Heating throughout the entire house which heats our home with warm floors. We pulled out all the radiators from our house that most of us NY'ers hate because it dries out the air in our homes. We keep a somewhat organic kitchen with juicing greens every morning and compost what we can to our local collection center. We were overjoyed when we had our senator come and help us plant a tree in front of our home, one of many to now be lining our street. We are somewhat involved in our community and have planted 22 trees on our city street as Tree Stewards of NYC Parks Dept. Rob was a club DJ who still spins when we're not out spinning our cycles around NY. We enjoy cycling in Astoria as well as join official rides throughout the city and tri-state area. We are both Native New Yorkers born&raised.

I have prepared a great Welcome Packet for your stay. It includes all the info that you could think of from directions, restaurants, local stores, international phone plans and more.

Let me be your ambassador to Astoria and NYC while enjoying your privacy in your own space.

Nancy purchased this apartment in 2002

Having grown up in Astoria I knew it was the best kept secret in NYC. Has a Village feel to it yet very much alive with the best lounges and restaurants as well as TV & Movie studios as it was the original Hollywood prior to producers going out West. Visit one of our most popular museums, Museum of Moving Image and treat yourself to a cocktail at The Astor Room, what was once the commissary where actors in the 1940's & 1950's had their meals while in wardrobe.

Your own private street entrance into your own apartment on a well lit street. Convenient location for those who need to drop off laundry at laundromat in the morning, then go across the street for breakfast at Family Corner and then walk 2 blocks to the Ditmars train Station, where you will always have a seat because it is the first stop and because of that there are always 2 trains at the station waiting for you.

I've enjoyed Nancy & Rob's apartment so much that I've decided to look for my own place right here in Astoria! I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the area or a place that made me happier to come "home" at the end of each day. This has been such a great experience and I can't recommend Nancy & Rob's place highly enough. Quiet, cozy, warm...and it has nearly everything you could possibly need for day-to-day life. And it's easy to get to Manhattan. Come here and experience one of New York's best neighborhoods while having a terrific apartment in which to do it. You won't regret it!

Having just completed month two of a three-month stay at Nancy & Rob's fabulous apartment, I am still very happy here. It certainly has been too cold since my arrival to explore much, but what I've seen of the area, I really like: I use the local library, the grocery store is great and I love the restaurant options as well as the Landromats nearby. The area feels very much like a neighborhood, and I'm beginning to recognize people (and dogs!) The apartment has remained warm and cozy through the most brutal of winters and I've truly enjoyed Rob & Nancy's company and hospitality. I'll likely cry when I leave this place, as I do love it so!

I don't know where to start with this review. I just love this apartment so much! I literally walk in after work each day and just grin, happy to be here. The space is adorable and just perfect for one person. The fully equipped kitchen allows me to cook nearly every night. The sofa bed is so much more than your typical sofa bed - large and comfortable. Plenty of room to store your things between a sizeable closet and many nooks and crannies to put your personal things. The bathroom is gorgeous! The spa-like shower is so wonderful and luxurious. And the floor heating is such a plus, especially with this bitterly cold winter we've experienced. The location is about a 10-12 min. walk to the train, about a 20-30-min. subway ride to the first stop in Manhattan, and about 40-45 mins. to Times Square. Getting here from the airports may be tricky if you don't know the public transportation system well, but it's a close taxi ride from LaGuardia, and not cost-prohibitive from JFK. The immediate neighborhood is residential, so it is very quiet and safe. Five blocks away, you're surrounded by restaurants and shops and three blocks away are two Laundromats and further down the main street is three major banks, more restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Nancy and Rob are wonderful hosts, thoughtful in every aspect, from helping to care for the apartment to being available for any request, question or concern. They are a very nice couple and have been very responsive and I've enjoyed getting to know them. I will be here for a total of three months and will miss the space terribly when I leave. It feels VERY much like home. The single drawback is spotty cell reception, but remedied by standing in the front of the apt. or at the doorway. I absolutely recommend this apartment for a long-term stay...it is very nearly perfect!

Christmas and New Year in NYC

We have chosen to spend our winter break in NY, since we wanted to visite the States and NY was the right place for this time of the year. We have chosen to stay in a rented apartment because we wanted to get the feel of living in an authentic neighborhood. Nancy (the owner) was kind enough to accept us as tenants although we weren't her usual type of clientele, she usual rents to people who stay at least a month. She even offered to accept a shipping that we have sent to her address, and after we left we expected another item, and she has received and reshiped it to our country. We liked everything about the place, it is not very far from the train station (not so close either), and the walk is really enjoyable. On the way to the apartment there are shops, Starbucks, CVS, Laundromat and a few restaurants. Just what you need, we would stop in the morning and get our coffee before embarking on the the subway, and at night, when we were coming back, we were passing by CVS to get water and other items we needed. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, we felt at ease walking in the dark, even late in the night. The studio is nice, as advertised and it has everything you need, we very much liked the heated floor. The kitchen is fully equipped, so if you plan to stay longer and feel like cooking, you can definitely do that. We very much enjoyed our stay and like to go back. Nancy and her husband seem like really nice folks.

Owner's Response: It was great having Octavian and his wife visit. They planned a well thought out trip because we never saw them. They were out most of the time taking advantage of enjoying NYC during the holidays.

I stayed at Nancy's place for 3 weeks in June / July 2013, whilst I looked for a permanent place. The space is brilliant (pretty much twice the size of the hotel I got out up in by my employers for a night in Manhattan!) and comfortable. The neighbourhood itself is lovely (and massively changed the image of Queens that I had from what I had been told!)- its around a 10-15 min walk to the subway, and the same to Astoria Park which had amazing views across to Manhattan. Nancy was an amazing host- she had picked up a couple of things on my first night to eat, as I got in quite late, and was always on hand to sort things out where needed. In short, I had all the perks of having my own studio apartment for three weeks (my own space,go and come as I wished, etc) plus the added comfort of a super helpful host.

Working in NYC for 4 months

This apartment is amazing! The sun shines in the front door window and lights the place up. Never do you feel like you are in a basement apartment. The full kitchen, beautiful bathroom, and the most comfortable sofa bed you will ever experience made it easy for me to stay with Nancy for four months. This area of Astoria is great, just a short walk to all the shops, restaurants and the N train on 31st street or go the other way to Astoria park. Walking along the east river with the awesome view of Manhattan was one of my favorite things to do during my stay.Nancy and Rob were very accomadating and helpful. From getting me pointed in the right direction upon my arrival to being there throughout my time there to answer any question and address any problem. Believe me, when I return to New York this apoartment will be my first choice in where to stay. Good luck to all and enjoy!

My stay at Nancy's was great. I loved the spacious studio apartment & the neighborhood. It's a 12-15 minute walk from the subway & I always felt safe. I was there in the beginning of winter & the apartment was always warm. It has both radiant & forced air heating. There's plenty of storage & the space is well laid out. The kitchen is full of all your cooking essentials & the bathroom is small but very nice and even has river rock on the shower floor. I worked long hours in Manhattan & just wanted to come home & chill, however I did step into a local bar one night & met the greatest people! No Partners bar which is just around the corner on 21st Ave. It's a small place, but is nice & clean and has a pool table, games, TV's & a juke box with every kind of music imaginable & no one cares what you play. I became great friends with the bartender & her friends. If you get in there tell Jill & Jack hi for me. You may also meet Derrin sitting at the bar. They showed me all the great little hang outs in Astoria. The owner Bobby also owns Tippin Inn on 30th Avenue & the adjoining restaurant Bartonlino's. The food at Bartolino's is amazing! And 30th Avenue has tons of cool little spots to check out. Nancy was a wonderful host. I was there for almost 2 months & she frequently cleaned the place & always had what I needed. She invited me on a walking tour with her & her friend of the city Holiday windows & sites. It was so nice! We even sat on Santa's lap at Macy's. I highly recommend this place for someone who doesn't want to be right in Manhattan or just can't afford it. It's an easy commute & well worth it to get away from all the hustle bustle.

I needed a quiet place to relax for a month of apartment-hunting in NY and this was just a great place to stay. Getting in touch with Nancy was easy and the place was amazing. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and bathroom, TV, Internet, the bed was comfortable, and on nights when it was a little hot, the AC kept the temperature just right. Nancy has really thought of everything, down to a neighborhood guide to help you discover all the best places to go in Astoria. The Ditmars-Astoria stop is close to restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and the N and Q trains get you to Manhattan in no time. Astoria has a real neighborhood feel and it's a beautiful area to walk around in, even at night. I would definitely recommend the Garden Suite to anyone who wants a quiet place to come home to, while still being close to Manhattan and Brooklyn.

I love this apartment. I stayed for an entire month and had no issues. It felt like home the first time I stepped in. It's really clean and well maintained, nicely decorated, comfortable and cozy. It's well lit and ventilated and stayed cool during the hottest summer days. The kitchen was equipped with everything one might need and a few extras. The neighborhood is also great - quiet and safe even late at night. The apartment is a few steps away from Astoria Park, grocery stores, the subway station, restaurants, laundromats, among other conveniences. Nancy is a great host as well. She was very accommodating and helpful with any requests or questions I had. I'd recommend this place to anyone and would consider it first every time I visit New York.
