We have lived in the Tampa area for 11 years and had always imagined owning a beach house. We finally made our dream come true when we purchased the Treasure Island property in 2011.

We chose the Treasure Island/St. Pete's Beach area because it is the widest natural beach on the Gulf with large sand dunes, and very few large high-rises to impede the sunset views.

There is a lovely board walk to take leisurely sunset walks or a daily run. The town center of Treasure Island with its clock tower marks the entrance to the area. Over the bridge, John's Pass, known for its shopping and waterfront restaurants, is minutes away.

Only 35 minutes to Tampa airport and downtown Tampa, TB Lightning hockey games, and 15 minutes to trendy downtown St. Petersburg, Ray's stadium for major league baseball and many golf courses.

This property has one of the largest, private backyards in Treasure Island. Sitting outside in the morning with a cup of coffee and the sun shimmering off the ocean is a favorite time of day! Family and visitors enjoy watching the variety of birds that drop in and drink from the pool.

Dolphins often swim into the large canal where you can drop a line and fish off the sea wall. Spending a relaxing day at the beach is only a short 10 minute stroll. See the sites without jumping into the car by riding one of the beach cruiser bicycles or paddle the intercoastal in a kayak. The double hammock comes in handy after an exhausting day of suntanning.

The house was very nice, and spacious. Everything you would need is provided, kitchenware, many beach towels & chairs, etc. The owner was kind and attentive- called to make sure all was ok. The pool was great and the weather was beautiful. Location was the best, close to everything- salons, ATM, gift shops, grocery store, restaurants, watersports and beach were all within walking distance. Busch Gardens was a quick 35-40 minute drive. Excellent vacation.

New Years Vacation

We had 5 adults and one toddler and had plenty of space. The house was exactly as the pictures showed it to be. It was very clean and it was fully stocked with anything you needed from towels and cookware to beach chairs. The yard was very nice with a very big backyard and nice size pool. In the morning the backyard would be visited by birds seeking flies from the top of the pool, also lots of little lizards along the bushes. The beach was only a 10 minute walk or 2 minute car ride away. Went and ate at a few places, Caddy's on the Beach was good for breakfast and lunch with a good variety of options for you to choose from. Middle Grounds was excellent for dinner, a little pricey but totally worth it. Scoops ice cream shop was very good, shakes big and yummy. Public grocery store and Wal-Greens were 5 minutes away for anything you needed. The owner was very attentive through the whole process and also checked to make sure everything was ok while on vacation. A fun vacation was had by all and u can't beat this house and location.

A treasure at Treasure Island

Cutting to the end would I visit again? Most Certainly!!! An excellent location with a secluded garden overlooking the inland waterway complemented by the odd visit from some friendly Dolphins, the pool was big enough to get some serious laps in and kept pristine by the poolman throughout our month stay. The beach was a 5 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk and well worth the effort, in the evening the 'free' taxi service (give the driver a $5 tip and you will get picked up subsequently) delivers you to some excellent bars and restaurants. The locals are very friendly and full of tips on the best deals and places to visit. For great sunsets the Caddy on the Beach is probably hard to beat with live music and good food at very good prices. For fantastic sunrises you just have to step out of the main bedroom door onto the pool patio (yes I did get up to watch a lot of them!) so the start and end of the day were well catered for. The house is well set up and Dave is a very attentive host checking that all is well but not being too intrusive, I said it the beginning but just in case you forgot, would I go again? most definitely! just need to check the calendar to decide when!

Owner's Response: Phil, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and my cleaning staff said there was nothing for them to do after you left! Thanks very much for the hangers I am sure other guests will use them. I owe you a couple of cocktails at Caddy's on your next visit.

Have a good winter in the UK and think of us at the beach :>)
