If you are seeking a beautiful, peaceful place to find refreshment, Hawaii House of Peace is the place. It's your home away from home for you and your loved ones and friends. Our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom large home will sleep 6 comfortably in the bedrooms, up to 10 including our two futon beds in the living room. And the enclosed in the back patio is a perfect place to enjoy paradise.
This is Rose (owner along with her husband Jason) with our son, pictured here with sweet Auntie Miki. Auntie (the local term of respect for older Hawaiian ladies) will be taking good care of you as you come to stay at Hale Maluhia, the Hawaii House of Peace. Auntie Miki lives in the separate Ohana upstairs, while Jason and Rose are living with their 5 children in Tianjin China.
In 2005 we came to the Big Island where our 3rd child was born, and fell in love with the amazingly loving people of our local Hawaiian church, and with the beautiful climate and adventures of the east side of the island. Being a bit of nomads without roots living as expats in China with our five children getting older, we decided to purchase a house we could someday call home. Our hearts led us right back to the wonderland of Pahoa in the Puna district of the Big Island...a land of waterfalls and surfing waves, rolling pastureland and flowing lava mountains, and a thousand more adventures. Our prayer is that like us, you will experience the Aloha love of the people of the Big Island, particularly of Auntie Miki and our local Hawaiian brothers and sisters, and you find the House of Peace as healing as it has been for us.
The neighborhood our home is located in is the best in the Puna district in our opinion, and was the primary factor in our choice of this property. It is a beautiful, peaceful, safe residential neighborhood, making you feel right at home on vacation. The house is extremely well built: it is spacious, and built for family fun, with everything you need at your fingertips. The kitchen is packed with all the appliances you could desire for cooking together; the living room is beautiful and relaxing, with a large flatscreen TV; the bedrooms are comfortable and inviting, and the enclosed patio in the back is always flowing with the fresh island breeze, complete with a refrigerator for drinks and relaxing couches and dining table.
