Absolutely no pride in ownership shown here. I was lied too during all the problems and lied to after all the problems. Did everyone else enjoy sleeping with the black mold in the master bedroom? I guess your sheets weren't full of sand when you arrived like ours were. And the kicker and what I was lied to about are the drains there. The master bath barely drained when we arrived and then on the second night there the drains back flowed and flooded the bathrooms. Plumbers didn't arrive till the day before we left even after waiting around for two days after the flooding for the plumbers to come because that was what i was told. A busted window I was supposed to cater too also. Other problems too but i think you get the point. I spent at least half of my vacation waiting around and playing phone tag with his problems ON MY VACATION!!! And he acted like I was inconveniencing him but he had no problems ruining my vacation with his problems and taking my money for it.
Owner's Response: We do take great pride in ownership and strive to make all of our guest’s vacations as pleasant as can be by providing a clean and comfortable home away from home. We are out of town owners but have a professional management team in place to handle any problems that may arise both quickly and with as little interruption as possible. For this reason we feel this review to be unfair and would like a chance to explain.
First, during the week that this guest stayed with us, super storm Sandy was heading up the coast with 70+ mph winds and dumping record amounts of rain causing much flooding in the area. This caused the shower drain in our unit #1 to back up as it is located on the ground floor. Upon hearing of the problem, we contacted a local plumber to fix the problem and were informed that there had been too much water in such a short period of time and the drain system was overloaded. They did what they could on this weekend call but informed us it would take another day of work to fix the problem completely.
This guest then also informed us of a problem with a broken window on the property that was discovered when they went to open it. We were not previously aware of. We contacted a repair company to go to the property and fix the window as soon as possible. Again, with the massive storms all around the area, the company assures us they did the best they could to get the repair done in a timely manner as to not inconvenience our guests. Local residents informed us that they had never seen rain like this before.
We did give this customer that wrote this review a $150.00 credit for their inconvenience and have offered them 1 free night during a future stay with us and thought that was acceptable as it was accepted with no other requests at the time.
Again, we do have great pride in ownership and therefore, many returning guests with very positive feedback and we always welcome suggestions on how we can make your stay better.
