The apartment is booked through June 2014, and we will not be taking new reservation until after April 2014. I have not figured out how to make this listing inactive until then. So, please know in advance that we cannot accept reservations at this time. Please visit back in April of 2014 if you are interested in staying after that.
The apartment is hidden away from the street. Enter through a private entrance on the side of the house from the deck/garden area. The first floor contains an open floor plan with a kitchen-dining area. It has antique maple floors and the kitchen is fully equipped, including a washer/dryer for your clothing. Downstairs there are two rooms, one has a double bed, and the other has a desk and twin day bed. There is a full bath with tub and shower. In warm weather enjoy dining on the deck.
As specified, this apartment is perfect for 1-3 guests. If you are a family of 4 or more, I am sorry that we cannot accommodate you. This is not negotiable, so please do not reach out if you have a family of 4 or more.
I am the proud owner of a converted carriage house located in Brookline, MA, not more than 5 miles from Boston's financial and shopping districts, the Harvard Medical Area and many of the Boston/Cambridge area's finest schools and universities. My home is adjacent to the apartment, so I am available to provide information about the area. By day, I work as an administrator in a law firm.
I love historic homes and architecture. The fact that my house was the former carriage house is a lucky twist of fate. Though the stalls were stripped long ago, I have taken pains to add character through such things as installing antique maple flooring. Also, the neighborhood is filled with turn-of-the-century homes, great for walking, and for a person who likes historic homes, this whole region of the US has an amazing wealth of places to explore. Between the convenience of the location and its curb appeal, this home provides a lovely base for exploring Boston, and the whole New England area.
The home is on a quiet street, yet located just blocks from wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and just about anything else you need/want. And, given its proximity to Boston, major universities and medical centers, and the highways, one could not ask for a more convenient spot.
