Welcome to SEAVIEW! We have been coming to St.George Island since 1992 when our kids were young. The initial appeal to St. George Island was the vast, beautiful white sand beaches with no crowds and the overall laid back atmosphere. And you know what? St. George is still like that! A 'crowded' day at the beach is seeing 20 people in either direction.... for miles! Additionally, St George is a safe place...from the Gulf waters being gentler than the Atlantic to the fact that most people on SGI do not lock their car when they go out...because they do not need to.

For 10 years, we rented homes at SGI and then decided to purchase. Seaview is our 3rd home and we purchased it in the fall of 2004 when the home was 1 yr old.

We love SEAVIEW and try our best to be sure it is always in excellent condition. We have had, and continue to have, fun decorating SEAVIEW and selecting colors and artwork that make SEAVIEW a cheerful and relaxing place to visit.

Suzy and I are retired and live in Decatur,Ga (a small town 6 miles east of downtown Atlanta) in a historic neighborhood in a home we designed and built in 2007. We do get to SEAVIEW several times a year as we find it our peaceful and relaxing retreat.

Our three kids are now grown and live all over the world. We try to make SEAVIEW our gathering point for those occasions when we can all be together at the same time.

We welcome you to make SEAVIEW your place to make memories with your family.

David and Suzy

David Crenshaw purchased this house in 2004

We bought our home at St George Island after looking at several other areas. St George offers the best combination of very low population density (no high rises), one of the top 5 beaches in the US, one of the top fishing spots in the US, and a nice variety of local stores that offer all we need when we visit. Additionlly, it a nature lovers area with lots of estuary areas as well as a 7 mile long state park that is nationally known. It is common to see egrets right on the beach and SGI is known for its turtle nesting areas.

When we go to SEAVIEW, we enjoy the vast beautiful beach and our private pool and hot tub. Words can not describe the beauty of the nightime skies from the hot tub.....SGI does not have any street lights so the skies are more visable. And the sunrises and sunsets are simply unbelievable! We also like to take walks on the beach or in the estuary which is one block back of our home. And then we like to bicycle on the 10 mile long bike path in front of our home that is mostly flat and easy to bike! And of course, we often do nothing at all but relax on the deck in our chairs! We also like the quality and variety of the numerous restaurants on St. George as well as those in close by historic Apalachicola.

Seaview is a beautiful and well-maintained property

We celebrated Spring Break 2014 with our neighbor family at the beautiful Seaview property on St. George Island. The home was clean and well-maintained. Our children (ages 3-12) greatly enjoyed the pool (solar heated). The weather in St. George Island ranged from 59-75 degrees in late March, but that beat the snowy, cold weather back home in the Chicagoland area! And the hot tub came in handy when the weather was cooler. We had great fun riding bikes, fishing, and exploring the State and National reserve areas.

Owner's Response: Jamie, Doug, and extended family---I know coming from Chicago area is a long ways but we really appreciate it and hope you will return. Suzy and I do find it interesting that over half of our guests do come from the midwest states with no coastline!

Even though it was cold and we didn't see the sun much Seaview came through for us! With all of the windows, open floor plan and beautifully decorated walls it always felt like the sun was shining. This house is very well cared for with all modern, clean amenities. Nothing looked worn or outdated. Just a short walk to the beach. This house is a gem! Can't wait to return in warmer weather.

Owner's Response: Angela and Ray, thanks for your kind comments! We actually are in the process of updating Seaview even more with some new furniture and Smart TV additions and other things. Sorry it was cold in January but it was warmer than home in Indiana for sure. Hope you come back.

This St. George home ended up being perfect for our group, which included 4 teenagers. We felt safe letting the kids explore the island by bike. The beach was a short, easy walk and having beach chairs, toys etc. already at the house was a big plus. The one bonus we weren't expecting was the pool. The kids really loved it! The decks and the hammock were perfect for relaxing. The house is spacious, clean and warmly decorated. We'll definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Betsy and Alan...thanks for your kind remarks! Safety is one the reasons Suzy and I bought at St George. Since most of us come from urban environments, it is refreshing to visit St George and not have to worry about our house, car, or most importantly our kids.

Rain or Shine, Everything Was Fine!

Despite a mix of rainy and sunny days, our two families has a wonderful time at Seaview. Our kids spend hours in the pool..rain or shine..and we made it to the beach more than a handful of times. The State Park was a must and our favorite place to eat was the Blue Patriot--a great view of the shoreline when you eat outside..
The house was wonderful--great spaces and great amenities...i think we had it all! We especially appreciated the Pak N Play and booster seat for our 2 year old...so nice not to have to bring those things along during travel.
Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We aren't sure but we think this is our 5th time to stay at Seaview! Have been coming to St George for 20 years. We love the beautiful beaches lovely atmosphere, and spending quality time together with our family. St George continues to be a wonderful place with limited commercialization...which we LOVE! We have enjoyed hours at the beach, pool, hot tub, roasting some-mores in the fire pit, and playing games on rainy days. We have enjoyed preparing delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen.
Thank you David & Suzy for the beautiful accommodations. We truly appreciate all the special amenities you provide.

Came Summer 2012 but were evacuated by Tropical Storm Debby after being at Seaview only 24 hours. We have to say this trip was so much better! We enjoyed finding sand dollars, shells, and starfish. The children loved the house, especially the pool and hot tub; hammock was also fun.We rented a pontoon boat at port St Joe, saw a shark, bunch of stingrays and very clear water. The house was perfect for our two families.

We just finished our week at Seaview and had a fantastic time! The home was perfect for our group, plenty of room, very clean, and of course terrific views of the ocean! It was nicely decorated, loved the bedrooms seascape themes. We really enjoyed the large decks to enjoy the sea breezes and hear the waves. On many days we saw dolphins too! The walk to the beach was short and easy to get to. We carried boogie boards, chairs, and even our two kayaks down the walking path with no problem. Loved the warm swimming pool and patio after a day of swimming in the ocean! The pool was very clean (had to fish out a ghost crab one morning- still alive, our two 6 year old grand daughters had fun with that), and pleasantly warm! Palm trees and beautiful pink flowers were by the pool. Our only complaint would be the size of the outdoor barbeque grill- wish it could be larger. But, we made do, and enjoyed grilling almost every day. We definately recommend Seaview, and plan to return!!

Owner's Response: Kristin and family from Illinois--thanks for your comments! I agree the BBQ grill is on the small size..it was the only one I could get at the time the previous one gave out. I will try to find a bigger one or get a second one.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seaview. Just as advertised, it had all of the amenities we could have asked for. It was so convenient to have a pack and play, toddler seat, beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas already there for us to use. The home is tastefully decorated with plenty of room. The pool and fire pit were also nice extras to have. The views were unbelievable, and the deck was a great place to watch the dolphins swim. It felt like home for the week. When we return to SGI, it will be to Seaview- David and Suzy were great to work with. They were more than helpful in recommending restaurants, attractions, etc.

Enjoyed Our Visit

We enjoyed our visit to SGI and were very comfortable at Seaview. The location was great with the beach, stores and restaurants close enough to ride our rented bikes to. The kitchen was well stocked which made food prep easy. We used the grill and also roasted marshmellows in the fire pit. The weather turned cold for most our stay so we were unable to use the pool and there were some hot tub issues but we had a lovely visit and would rent from David again.
Owner's Response: Teresa, Allen, Glenda, & Glenn...thanks for your comments! I know the Houston area is a long way to come to Seaview but it seems you did have a good vacation despite the hot tub issue! After 3 repair visits and $1300 I do believe the hot tub is fixed. Hope to see you all again at Seaview!
