Lovely weekend stay

We enjoyed a long weekend in the Stable. Lovely property in a quiet location about 4 miles from the market town of Alston. Friendly welcome from the owner. Enjoyed watching the sheep and their very new lambs in the field right beside the house. House well furnished and equipped and very clean. Would certainly recommend this as a place to come. Lots to do in the local area and a little further afield, and just getting there involves seeing some stunning scenery.
Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family. Hope you will return again soon!

Great Host, Wonderful Stables, Stunning Scenery

My family and I (including nan & grandad) had a great week in Broadmea Stable in the February half term holidays. The accommodation was lovely and it's open plan layout gave it a very nice and spacious feel. We all slept very well as the beds were really comfortable.

It's location was excellent for visiting Cumbria or Northumberland and after a day out it was great to crash out in a comfortable and warm home. The Lake District is close by and we visited Keswick and Ullswater on two separate days.

Tricia & Paul were great hosts and obviously love what they do. They were full of information about places to go and things to see. Our children were looking forward to visiting Harry Potters Hogwarts Castle (ie Alnwick Castle) however in February it was shut to the public. Tricia and Paul however told us about the TreeHouse that is built in the Castle grounds which is open to the public all year round (as well as the Gardens) and we therefore decided to drive up and take a look. The kids were in their element running across the suspended rope bridge some 50ft above the ground - making it wobble up and down for all us adults. It also includes a restaurant and coffee shop which was a great pit stop.

The property had the added benefit of a downstairs bathroom with a walk in shower / wet room which was ideal for grandad as he struggles to use conventional showers or showers above a bath.

We had a thoroughly good week with plenty of fresh air and all the home comforts of the luxurious Broadmea Stable.

Christmas at Broadmea

Our third Christmas at Broadmea. A blissful retreat from our busy lives. The beautiful properties are in a stunning location. Both properties are very clean and very well maintained. The Barn and the Stable are fully equipped. Patricia and Paul Staley provided excellent customer service and have always been very welcoming. We enjoyed long walks through spectacular scenary, walking for hours with our dogs to return happy and exhausted to our beautiful accommodation. We enjoyed a couple of meals at the nearby kirkstyle Inn in Knarsdale and would recommend a visit as the food was excellent and we were made very welcome.
We would heartily recommend Broadmea Barn and Stable to friends and relatives and have indeed done so on many occasions.
