Great location but has its shortfalls
Family of four with two teenage daughters visiting from Florida, US - The apartment is very well located in a nice neighborhood well serviced with convenience stores, pubs and small cafe's and restaurants. Major shopping on Oxford Street is a short walk away as are tube stations. Manager is a very nice guy and was willing to help with our requests. The apartment is on the 4th floor so the climb up the stairs may not be too suitable for some. It's spacious and bright and airy, but it did get noisy especially early in the morning.
The property was not ready when we arrived and it would of been nice to of walked in to a nicely prepared apartment. The dishwasher was not emptied, the blinds had been removed from the bedroom, there was a big bad of dirty linen in the hallway, four burnt out light bulbs, and we even had to vacuum and sweep the floors ourselves. There are also only the very basic of necessities provided. You get one toilet roll per bathroom for a week and there are no hand towels, kitchen or tea towels, soap, etc. After a long flight from the US it of been much more enjoyable to of just been able to unpack and not have to go shopping for bare necessities (the home we stayed at for the second week was nearly 50% cheaper but still provided a nice welcome basket with essential items such as a pint of milk, loaf of bread, soaps, etc., and was spotless - it made a world of difference and made us feel much more appreciated).
The apartment is in the West End and all the fabulous sites of London are within easy access. We also rented a car and the manager was helpful with getting us in a good secure parking space at a very reasonable price (for London). He was also helpful with providing directions and information on the congestion zone.
Apart from the shortfalls, we do recommend this apartment for those reasonably active and you will need to bring your own supplies. But it's the small details and niceties that this place lacks that really make it someplace special.
