Beautiful harbor view
The cottage was bright and airy with a beautiful view of the harbor from both the living area and the front porch. It’s within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars and shopping.
Both bedroom doors were warped and would not close. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses and flatware, but curiously not cereal bowls; nor were there any basic condiments such as salt or pepper. The TV doesn’t have a digital converter so only a few channels are available but not stations such as CNN, ESPN etc. There is a blue ray DVD player and a DVD rental store in the village. The cottage’s wi-fi has a fast internet connection. The cottage is in a neighborhood which can become loud in the afternoon with lawnmowers, leaf blowers and local folks doing home repairs. The cottage is more suitable for 2 or 3 rather than 4 since the living area only has seating for 3.
Tourists without a Car,
Owner's Response: We were very surprised at this review and certainly wish we had heard about these issues during the stay and had the opportunity to address them. This is the first season for renting the house after our renovation this past winter and spring. Our “Welcome” note gives our contact information and we encourage renters to phone, e-mail or visit us at our local B&B (less than a 5 minute walk) with any questions about the house and area and to get additional information on activities, etc. We believe we could have addressed several of the issues mentioned if we had known about them.
We currently have a family of 4 staying and upon contacting them after reading this review to see if they had any problems, their quote was “Everything is great! Thanks for asking”.
We would like to encourage all potential renters to e-mail or phone with any questions about the house, amenities or location before reserving. And also, when staying at the house, remember to let us know of any concerns/issues as we are local and always available.
