The Oaks is a comfortable, much loved late eighteenth century cottage, a charming blend of old and new. There are traditional features such as an inglenook fireplace and window seats and an 'updated' kitchen and free Internet access. Close to the centre of the village with Pub, Community Shop and Church, The Oaks is tucked away down a quiet track leading up to Lewesdon Hill. It is an ideal place to relax and recharge your batteries before exploring the delightful countryside, old towns, and World Heritage Jurassic Coast. West Bay, 'Broadchurch' is just 9 miles away.
The Oaks is very well equipped and furnished.
Downstairs there is a large, friendly kitchen-dining room to gather in and try the local food for which West Dorset is renowned, a utility room, a boot room for boots and coats; a sitting room to relax in after a day's expeditions and enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning stove and a smaller sitting room too for a quiet moment! Downstairs there is also a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room which can be helpful for those who are less mobile.
Up the steep stairs there is one double, one single and one twin bedroom and family bathroom.
Outside: an enclosed front garden, a side garden with picnic table and parking for two cars. A track by a stream leading up to the highest hill in Dorset.
