We stayed at Gateway Villas for a week in August. This unit has been beautifully remodeled from top to bottom with many high end touches. There were also many upgraded features, from soft close cabinets to many different types of accent lighting. The beds were super soft...and the LazyBoy pullout sofa was also comfortable for our nine year old son - there was an electric airpump that inflated the top part of the mattress in about 30 seconds to make it extra comfy. Each bedroom had a ceiling fan, and the lanai had two! The view from the lanai is beautiful, and you can sit and listen to the sound of the waves. There were extra pillows in the master bedroom, which we appreciated. The washer and dryer came in very handy and did a great job in washing. There is a beach cart with beach chairs, and nice beach towels, too. Everything felt very clean, which is very important to me. The weather was very hot and humid while we were there, and the pool couldn't have been more refreshing! The building itself is older, but well maintained. It has a gated entrance for cars, which was a nice security feature. There are eight floors and six units on each floor...there are two elevators and we never had to wait for more than a few seconds for the elevator. We enjoyed eating at South Beach Grille, and Truly Scrumptious has truly scrumptious ice cream! The only negative we found was that the beach was not nearly as emerald green/blue as we had been anticipating...the water near the shore is more of a tea color, and the beach is not as sandy as we were hoping...there were shells and seaweed everywhere. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a fabulous condo on the Gulf!
