Not So Nice
We arrived at the house on what we thought would be a quick family retreat into the beautiful Camp Sherman area. The house sat right on the main road, which we did not know being from out of town, nor was this advertised. The house was not private at all, with neighbors mowing lawns, using chain saws to do work, and dogs constantly barking during the day hours.
The house looked like it had not been cleaned in months. Dust, dirty cutting board (bread crumbs, really!!) filthy furnishings and a master bedroom with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling!! To top it off, the electric outlets in both bathrooms did not work. The one bathrooms shower doors were also grimy
We also were told by owner to "call him or his local contact" if we needed anything or had an emergency, but failed to tell us that Camp Sherman had no phone service, so we had to drive into Sisters to contact him. His "emergency contact" was not available and never even tried to contact us back after we left a message. The promised grill out back, was non-existence and there was one dirty fry pan to use to cook our steaks on, which we brought to .grill! The area is so beautiful so we planned another trip the following month and found a lovely home, private setting and honest owners. We will not be back to the Fisherman's Lodge.s
Owner's Response: Hello Travelers. We are very sorry that this guest did not enjoy their stay in our home, I think they were hoping for something much more secluded than our property. Our Property is backed by Camp Sherman road, it is the only way in and out of the area so there is some travel on the road. We have addressed all concerns with our cleaning crew, and have been assured they are aware of the complaints and that they must insure a better experience for our future guests. We did refund all unused days and regret that there visit to our home was not exceptional.
