Sunny weekend in Shasta.

From the moment we met Nan and her staff at Yaks we knew that we would love our time in Mount Shasta. The people who live in Mount Shasta have always been so down to earth and outgoing. The area is so family oriented and, wether you're at their downhill, nordic or wilderness areas, you see families enjoying the great outdoors.
We contacted Nan about her three bedroom unit. It was booked, so she talked to us about staying in the one bedroom unit (the one with girls face painted on the wall) and the bunk house (two bedrooms, three beds, one bath and a kitchen) that is directly below it. There were six of us, so the combination worked out nicely and we could all hang out in the TV living room area in the upstairs unit. All the units have just been renovated and painted by Shasta's local artists, which makes them both unique and clean. The beds are also warm, soft and comfy to handle Shasta's cold winter nights. The upstairs unit has views of Mount Shasta from both the living room and bedroom windows.
The location is right in the middle of town, which made it easy to walk to some of Shasta's restaurants (Trinity Cafe is right down the street) or a six mile drive to Dunsmuir's restaurants (Dogwood Diner and Cafe Maddalena are both located on the same block). It's a short drive to downhill and nordic centers located on the way to the quaint little town of McCloud.
We are looking forward to our next time staying in either one of Nan's artistic creations.
