2012 was a big year for Kelley and I (Andy), we got married in January 2012 and gave birth to our daughter Emily in December!
I'm English, but fell in love with Sydney and in particular the northern beaches when I traveled here around 11 years ago, I returned to England for a brief spell but moved and settled in Manly 10 years ago...I have no intention of leaving anytime soon.
My wife Kelley is Australian and her family has a long association with this area, her mum and grand dad were born and lived in Manly.
One of the main reasons for wanting to move to the northern beaches was the consideration of where we wanted to raise a family. Australia is a very open and relaxed society that prizes family values highly. The weather makes for a healthy outdoor lifestyle and Sydney's harbours and beaches also make you want to get outside and get active and these are all things that appeal to Kelley and I.
Whilst Kelley has her hands-full looking after Emily I work in franchise recruitment in Sydney and my commute to work consists of a ferry ride across one of the worlds most beautiful harbours - I still occasionally send my London mates photos of pods of dolphin taken form the ferry as im on my way to work!
Kelley and I are social and family orientated and its important to us that whoever stays is able to feel at home in our home, we love living here and we're pretty sure you will too.
It took us 5 seconds to decide we wanted to buy this apartment. Despite it being averagely decorated, we literally walked in saw the view and the potential the space provided and offered over the asking price on the spot.
We put byfold doors in, wooden floors, painted and now enjoy what we think is a pretty special lifestyle.
Manly is the perfect location, close to everything but also quite. Family orientated yet has great bars and restaurants, whatever you want you'll find it in manly.
This may be an English thing, but I still associate being on the beach with being on holiday. If I have a tough day at work then jumping into the ocean outside our front door immediately washes away everything and I feel like I'm instantly on holiday. I thought this would ware off, but its been 10 years and it still hasn't! In short I love the ocean view, the sea breeze and the fact from sitting on our sofa I can be on a beach in 30 seconds flat.....We're sure you'll love this too.
