It's not in the mountains of Tibet, it's actually In Bali. The kingdom of Shambhala has been extensively described in both ancient myth and stories of explorers who describe it as the holy grail of the search for serenity on Earth. Well, they need search no further. It turns out it can really be found in Villah Lebah, Bali. This was the terminus of my travels around South East Asia, having planned to spend the last week in "holiday" mode after spending the previous couple of months in "travel" mode. Enough with the adventure, now for some unwind, R&R, veging out, boozing, and surfing! This was the ideal venue for it, thankyou to the hosts. I would recommend this to anyone, regardless of whether the focus of the holiday is ecotourism, a relaxing break in the sun, or soaking up Balinese culture.
Another advantage, as we saw it, was its location in the south of the island, off the beaten track and away from much of the bustle of tourism, but still with plenty of attractions within easy reach.
So come to Villah Lebah, Bali, and relax in style with a Nasi Lomak and a Bintang beer looking out from the coast of Paradise Island (it's really called that by the way!)

Where do I start?.... The infinity pool! The home-cooked local food! The home visit massage service! The sunsets! The bathrooms that are bigger than a normal bedroom! The luxury environment! I could have spend every day of my 10 days staying in the house and never got bored. The layout of the house allows for all 8 friends to have their own privacy but at the same time get together and lie out in the bali (the outside hut by the pool) and watch the sunset every night with a fresh cold Bintang beer. I will definitely be returning soon. I had the most amazing time as well as being treated like royalty by the house staff and the owners alike. Definitely worth a visit if you want a perfect mix between luxury, relaxing and a bit of partying!

Thank you for letting us into your beautiful home and enjoying our stay in bali.We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children and stayed for 5 days in June 2011.We had great time and Nurul the housekeeper and her husband made our stay more than comfortable.
I have to tell you after staying in villa lebah we stayed in grand hyatt nusa dua for 2 days which is one of the largest resorts but we were missing the villa.
Loved the pool and view of ocean.....the comfort of eating breakfast at our own pace and not rushing to meet the deadline of hotel buffet......kids had their own room and we had our space and once kids slept we could sit with our friends and enjoy knowing Nurul will order our food from home delivery or the delicious satays Nurul's husband barbequed for us.There were things to do for all age groups like toys for my 4 yr old,board games and wii for my 9 year old, iPod deck,books on bali, magazines and DVD for us....it could not have got better.

For three weeks we stayed with a party of nine young (average age 25) German friends at this absolutely awesome Villa. First of all I must say that there was nothing we could complain about.
All 4 bedrooms including their bathrooms – except of the master bedroom – are on a very high standard. Compared to a five stars hotel (I used to know), the bedrooms definitely offers a higher level (furniture, available space, etc.)!
Except of the master bedroom, because this one is absolutely terrific. For our experience there is no chance for any comparison at all.
The pool area with its Bale is completely stunning; the view over a small part of the island and the ocean is nothing but brilliant.
The games and media room… ok I have a lack of superlative adjectives - maybe I just say it’s perfect.
The dinner room, kitchen and lounge area – needless to say that it couldn’t be better.

Speaking about Bali itself (I was there for the second time): I really love it!!
The mentality of the people, the culture, the vegetation, the cheap prices, the beaches, the night live and so on. Maybe there is another place in this world, which is that magnificent, but I don’t think so.

Nurul (the householder), her son, her husband and Aldi (the driver) were so terribly nice all the time. At the end of the vacation Nurul was nearly like a lovely mother for all of us!!

All in all I can summarize: The trip was way better than in our biggest dreams and imaginations. We plan to come back in two or three years, and I’m really already looking forward to this time!

If you think I overact somehow, I can only advise you to find it out for yourself!

Highly recommend Villa Lebah to anyone travelling to Bali. A fantastic place to relax and unwind. With the services of our great drivers we had the whole Island at our disposal with great beaches just minutes away.

Nurul the resident cook/housekeeper was just fantastic and treated us to 5 star service and excellent food for our whole stay. Would recommend you send Nurul to the fish markets one day and enjoy the amazing range of perfectly cooked fresh seafood that comes back - the best part is that it costs so little you can treat yuorself every day!!!

Had a round at New Kuta Golf - simply superb course, for any golf enthusiasts this course is a must!

Cannot say enough about our experience at Villa Lebah - I'd suggest you give it a go yourself and then you'll know what i'm talking about!

My husband and his friends have been talking about having holidays in Bali for long time. Recently I came to know from my friend that David has a villa in Bali and ready for rent. After getting David’s email address, I email to him immediately. David has replied to me with all the information of the villa. And our holidays confirmed on October 2010.

Together, 7 of us arrived Denpasar Airport at night. Upon arriving, the driver – Aldi was already at the arriving hall waiting for us.

The route to the villa is long to us as we were tired (in fact it is not far from the airport). Upon arriving at the villa, our tiredness went off! We were surprise with what was in front of us! The villa was so beautiful. Then comes Nurul, the housekeeper with big smile and introduced her to us. David was so thoughtful that he already arranged Nurul to prepare the meal for us. After taking shower, we enjoy the first dinner in Bali at the infinity pool side. It was really relaxing after the journey.

The view of the Bali sunset overlooking the New Kuta Golf was pristine. Not only were the rooms in the villa spacious & clean, there is also game room and TV room available for entertainemnt. The housekeeper & driver were most helpful & cooperative. Nurul prepare breakfast for us every morning, and some evening, we dine in the villa and Nurul does the marketing and cooking for us. Aldi, the driver, has taken a very good care of my mother in-law who was not convenience in walking. He was so attentive and caring. We were pampered and were well looked after. Thanks to Nurul and Aldi for taking care of us. Every evening, after outing, we were having fun with games, drinking and relaxing in the villa.

Not only that, the location of Villa Lebah Balangan is perfect. Not far from Golf course for those who like to enjoy golfing at the scenic golf course. David has arranged the golfing for us on Wednesday where we can join the local ‘Rafffle’ club member with a good rate. New Kuta Golf course is fantastic. We enjoy the golfing very much. Thanks to David for the arrangement.

We’ve had a most wonderful memorable stay in Villa Lebah Balangan. We would most likely stay in Villa Lebah Balangan again & again….

We have have no words to explain the experience for our family this summer in Bali. The island is wonderful and lovely people.
Especially enjoyed the stay in Villa Lebah. Upon entering the villa we all said: WOW!!! The house is really beautiful, with large bright rooms. The master bedroom in particular is fantastic, with a spectacular Jacuzzi.
The large pool table, the infinity pool… children have enjoyed it a lot.
We have really enjoyed at home.
What about the housekeeper…Nurul, a lovely person who is always attentive to all that asked. In addition, we thoroughly enjoyed the meals she prepared us.
We are very grateful to her and to Aldi, the driver, for all the help they gave us those days.
We also thank honesty of the service and the owner, David Lowe. We let a camera into the house and sent us to our home in Spain. David: thank you very much!!
We hope return someday to Bali and no doubt will return to Villa Lebah.

My husband and I have recently returned from a stay at this beautiful villa. We stayed at three different villas in totally different locations and had saved the best until last! Villa Lebah is stunning. It is ultra modern and vast, and the owners have thoughtfully equipped it with everything possible for a special stay. The television room with its huge comfy sofas and the large tv entertainment system and full size pool table takes up half the upstairs, whilst the sunset balcony is a lovely place to watch the lovely Bali sunsets. The pool area is beautiful and we spent many hours relaxing and enjoying the views from the infinity pool. By night, with the pool lit up, it became a romantic setting for the lovely dinner that Nurul cooked for us.
The views are stunning and will be even better when the building works are completed. David was keen to tell us about it before we booked and we were slightly worried on the approach but the villa is completely finished and the work stopped at 5pm sharp each day, so it really didn't bother us. It will be stunning when completed.
We went to Balangan beach for lunch one day - do go as it is lovely and only ten minutes away. It was almost deserted, even in August and we had a lovely lunch whilst watching the surfers.
Jimbaran beach and the romantic beach restaurants are also only about 15 minutes away, and needless to say the shopping of Kuta to Seminyak is within easy reach for a shopping fix, so the location is perfect.
