We arrived to a lovely huge house in the woods, clean, spacious, all amenities included and friendly owners which were very approachable. They stayed in a trailor on property. House didn't smell of smoke which they had odor absorbing disc placed through out the house. Had cable upstairs TV so we could watch our MTV special with basic cable downstairs. Kitchen was very user friendly. Had beautiful weather so we didn't experience hot conditions and windows were accessible on all sides of house. House was in the woods ,shade. Saw a buck in back yard along with coyote sounds at night. I especially enjoyed the patio for our lobster dinner which is messy and outside makes for easy clean up. The gas grill was used for our other evening dinners.
I will definitely recommend this house.

Beautiful house. Clean well kept. Bonus was the jacuzzi tub and the wonderful grill. Convienent to store hiking and swimming. Great quiet side of island. Only thing that was a surprise was the owners lived on the property next to the garage in a camper. We saw them rarely and were very helpful if we needed anything. Would rent again.

We have many good things to say about staying here, but were disappointed that the interior smelled of cigarette smoke. The house is beautifully built (the pictures don't even do it justice!) and is surrounded by woods. The owners stay in a trailer parked by the garage, but a tall fence obstructs the view. They were very nice and gave us our space and privacy. We cooked regularly in the kitchen and had everything we needed. However... there wasn't AC but we had cool enough weather and kept the windows open. There also isn't internet available but that was probably a good thing to escape from. There were times we wanted it and were able to do so once in Bar Harbor which has 4G. The hot water had a few minor issues we weren't able to really figure out - it stopped or ran out for short periods of time. But... the location was perfect for us - a beautiful 15 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. If the smell could be neutralized, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone!

Owner's Response: We have been addressing the issue of smoking in the house. We continue to do all we can to curtail this problem. This issue should be corrected now. We are glad that you enjoyed our home. We are sorry that the smoking problem was there. We have had people stay at our home that did smoke inside. Again,we are sorry that this issue even came up.
