Anna Maria House Rental Photos and Description
4 Bedroom 2 Bath Family Home

2013 is the first year we have rented our family beach house on anna maria island. Our kids are in school and it is harder to get down to fl. We love this quaint and charming area of florida. The house sits on a canal at the end of a cul de sac off of historic pine avenue. The house is a 5 minute walk to the beach. You are also in walking distance of great restaurants

(the waterfront, relish cafe, city pier & the sand bar) and fabulous botiques and shops that line pine avenue.

The beach is in a secluded area of the island that does not have much public access - therefore it feels very private and not too crowded. The only open air waterfront restaurant - the sand bar sits at the end of the street - this is perfect for lunch, or a cocktail after visiting the beach.

Inside the house you will find four bedrooms - one bedroom on the first level, two bedrooms on the second level and one loft bedroom on the third floor. The first level bedroom sleeps two in a pull out sofa, the second level has a master king bed and a queen bed in the two rooms, the third floor loft has two twin beds with pull out trundel twin beds. In total the house sleeps 8-10 comfortably. There is a long living area on the second level with an open kitchen and an adjacent dining area leading into the open living room with wood burning fireplace. The living room has a series of sliding doors that look out onto a second floor deck surrounding the house. The deck contains outdoor living room furniture and a dining table that seats four. There are two bathrooms on the second level - one has a two person shower and the other has a large soak tub with jets. The house contains three tv's, in the master, kids loft and main living room with cable. High speed wireless internet is available.

The back yard contains a large swimming pool and a 8 person hot tub. To the side of the pool is a built in tile bar and outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, pool refridgerator and sink. An outdoor bathroom and shower are also poolside. Beach gear and kids toys provided. There are small lifejackets and a rugged beach stroller here at the house. The backyard also contains a dock and a boat lift (there are two covered bridges out to the bay).

The house is nicely decorated and has a well equipped kitchen. The views from every room are soothing and beautiful.

Longboat key is a 15 minute drive and st. Armands circle is a 35 minute drive - you can reach downtown sarasota in 45 minutes from the house. The closest airport is sarasota (40 minutes), tampa airport is (70 minutes).

Great for family

We have visited Anna Maria several times and prefer the North end location for our family and this home's location was great. Very close walk to Pine Ave (and the trolley), with lots of fun nearby. The little market is great for deli salads, sandwich essentials, etc but go to grocery for anything major. The kids loved the bikes & scooter for getting to/from the beach or just burning off energy in the cul de sac. There were a ton of pool/beach toys, swim vests, rafts, beach chairs, beach cart, several adult and kid bikes. You may need to consider renting a bike trailer or bike with training wheels if your kids aren't steady on two-wheelers. We rented a pack & play to make a "bedroom" for our toddler in the master closet. Our 4 & 7 year olds slept in the loft and sometimes had trouble settling down if it was too noisy in the main living area, but this set up would be great for older kids who can stay up a bit later. Can sleep 4 children with the trundles. They LOVED the toy box and games. There is a high chair and bumbo seat, too. The pool was great. If you have a child not safe around stairs, I would definitely contact a local rental agency for a baby gate to block the stairs, but I think it could be easily managed. Our 19 month old did fine (although I didn't let her on the deck unsupervised because even though it is all enclosed--no stairs--there are a few areas that the width between the slats is large enough for her head--paranoid mama here). One minor inconvenience is that the only indoor shower is in the attached master. The hall bath has a giant tub with sprayer, so if you have other adults that don't mind using the tub, no big deal. The outdoor shower has hot water, though, too, so it wasn't really a problem for us. (also note there is a toilet in the pool room, hard to see beyond toys, etc but VERY useful). The kitchen table set up can get crowded bc it is kind of tight to move around in that area, but there is seating outside as well, and toward the end of our stay we did notice a leaf for the table in the entry closet. Also had to move a lamp in for light at dinner time. The downstairs bedroom is truly only a pull-out sofa, and not too comfortable according to my brother-in-law, FYI, but there is a TV there so it makes a good 2nd lounging place. The house has some wear and tear, but it worked great for our family of five, with frequent visits from nearby family and friends. The house could definitely accommodate 2 families if you are close. :)

The Anna Marie Hideway was everything we could hope for our family vacation. The house is spacious and very comfortable in a quiet secluded area of the island. There was something to suit our large family members needs and preferences as the house is packed with movies, toys, bikes, a great pool and is located in a canal so we rented a Kayak for the time being there and took numerous kayak trip to the City piers.

We will definitely come back to this house next year to enjoy the beautiful Anna Maria Island.

Thank you very much Nicole and Scott!

Relaxin' In The Treehouse

We just came back from a week's stay at the "Treehouse". There was 7 of us (3 adults and 4 kids) and we had plenty of room which was great. The kids loft/bedroom was ideal because they could have their own space. The weather was a bit unseasonable so the hot tub came in handy in the evening. We heated the hot tub and let it flow into the pool so the pool could stay warm. The cool nights made heating the pool a task, but the hot tub heated up fast. The location is great for kids because it is at the end of a street so there is very little traffic. The views from the elevated living room over the canal were fantastic. The Egrets and Herons were a joy to watch landing and taking off from various points around the area. The house is about a 3 minute walk to Pine Avenue, and ten minutes to either the Gulf or the Bay. Plenty of nice little restaurants and stores. The only negatives to the home were that the dining room chairs were peeling (need replacement), the sliding doors were old and most windows and doors did not have screens. All in all, we enjoyed the home and the quiet seclusion.

Shell-Fantastic!

We needed a place with wi-fi, a quiet bedroom at night, interesting views, and close to the beach and restaurants. This was it!
I had a manuscript that needed editing and husband had a tax return to work on for a client. We found the peace and tranquility to do both, whether inside at the spacious dining room table, sitting comfortably on the couch, or overlooking the canal from the second floor deck. Heron and egrets cruised by on the breeze, kayakers paddled on the canal, and the three, large flat screen TVs were great for checking the weather and national news. We found time to golf, to walk the beaches (great shell collecting on the Gulf side), and fun places to eat. Try the Sandbar in the evening for sunsets, Vinny and Cheryl's Italian Kitchen for the best and freshest pizza, parmigiana, and zuppa di pesce. Or eat in - the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cutlery, and conveniences.
Hot tub in March for those chilly mornings? YES!
Mid week we were wishing we had a month to stay!
Thank you for making your place available.
