Unique beachfront and riverfront property 45 minutes from NYC.
After years of dealing with long commutes to the Hamptons in the summer, I selected this house because of its easy ferry to NYC. But I was really impressed by the property. The beach is surprisingly wide and clean, and incredibly private, even on the busiest summer weekends, despite being one of the closest beaches to Manhattan. And there is also direct river frontage and a dock which permitted my friends to moor two boats for waterskiing/wakeboarding/tubing/fishing and just hopping around to the many dock front restaurants/bars. I even considered commuting to NYC by speedboat. And with dozens of miles of bike and running paths connecting to Sandy Hook and the Highlands and downtown Sea Bright, there is not much need for a car to get around. The house is basically brand new and very large and modern. Using the theater room as a 7th bedroom, and the day beds in the game room, and fold out couches in the living rooms, we were able to sleep 22 people.
I know most of the NJ shore was hit hard by Sandy, including Sea Bright, but I hear this house only suffered minor damage to the first floor and has already been repaired.
