"Staying in Derrypark for nearly 20 years it is the perfect place for a holliday for me!

Setting in remote, natural area, Derrypark Lodge is situated on a small sheep farm in the heart on Connemara, right on the shore of Lough Mask, Maumtrasna Bay. I love beeing there seeking for great fishing, solitude, pure nature, great views & freh air.

In my eyes this is the best place to explore Connemara with all its fishing, cultural and historic highlights. Hikes from 1 to as many hours as you like can be made from doorstep.

The stone cottages are build with style and care and fitted with everything I will need. A warm fireplace does wellcome me after a long day fishing. My hosts Teresa and Brian do a brilliant job and will provide me with everything I need for a great holliday.

My first love troutfishing in Lough Mask is magnificent, boats and ghilliservice is available by Brian. My second love salmonfishing is available just a drive away."

Derrypark Lodge Summer Break 2010

I have stayed with Brain & Teresa Joyce for many years but mostly earlier in the year during May/June for a weeks guided fly fishing for trout. This year was our second trip as a family with my 2 young boys who were keen to get out in a boat again. The cottage as always was well presented, clean and comfortable. The scenery is stunning with views across the Lough and mountains always changing with changing light. I took the chance to do some fishing with a boat at my disposal for the 2 weeks but principally it was a family holiday. We used the boat to spend time on sandy secluded beaches on the Lough, great for swimming and sunbathing with only wildlife for company. The cottage is also only a short drive from the coast with the Conamara Loop drive which is a must with spectacular scenery and miles of unspoilt beaches. We took our bikes which is a great way of taking in the scenery at a slower pace but best to drive to a central point and have a circulr ride. For the more energetic there is open access to the mountain in across the Lough in front of the cottage which gives views across Lough Mask and Lough Corib and beyond. In all a super location and a great base for a holiday with the benefit of fishing on your doorstep. Mark

Well what can we say about Brian's cottages, apart that everything is perfect.
Brian and Theresa, the owners, are really nice, caring for their guests.
The cottage is really great, clean and confortable with a wonderful view on Lough Mask.
The landscape is amazing, breathtaking, and the feeling of peace and tranquility won't leave you for all the lenght of your stay.
Even our dog enjoyed his holidays, and the fact that pets are welcome is a real bonus.
The fishing is brilliant and only 100m from the cottage give you access to a superb bay where pikes and trouts are thriving.
Boats and motors are in perfect condition.
We had a wonderful week and we will come back a soon as we can.
During your stay, don't forget to have a go for a gorgeous apple pie and coffee at Theresa's Cafe in Cong!
