‘Fortunato’ is a very charming and child-friendly houseboat.

‘Fortunato’ is a very charming and child-friendly houseboat. It has a terrace, where you can enjoy breakfast or play games while sitting next to the water. Next to the boat is a garden available that you are welcome to use.

Jan, the owner of the houseboat, has a few special offers: First, he rents out bicycles. By bike, you can easily get to the centre of the city in about 5 minutes. Jan would also be glad to take you on a bicycle tour through Amsterdam, or, if desired, a boat tour through the canals of the city. Further, Jan offers the services as a personal chauffeur for tours to other cities in the Netherlands worth visiting. Also, cities in Belgium, like Antwerp or Brussels, or Cologne and Aachen in Germany, can be arranged.

The boat is not shared with anyone else so your privacy is assured.

We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam.

we had a wonderful time in Amsterdam. The house boat was clean, well equipped and nicely decorated (the shower is amazing!). It accommodated four adults with ease. The location, away from the main drag, was peaceful but a choice of two trams and a bus stop all nearby meant that getting into down town Amsterdam was a breeze. The boat has a beautiful patio area into the canal, we ate breakfast here in the morning and enjoyed afternoon drinks as the sun went down. The resident swans, heron and ducks on the canal provided the wildlife! The micro brewery in a windmill nearby was a lovely hub of local activity with some pleasant beers to sample. Jan the owner went above and beyond to help us, organising our arrival and departure was a breeze and he was most accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend the house boat if you're looking for a real taste of life in Amsterdam, will definitely return.

Yes, we had a lovely time and our host couldn't have been more accommodating. He picked us up at the dock when we had to disembark, and we had coffee while the houseboat was being cleaned. The added attraction of the swan's nest was just incredible - and it will stick in our memory as much as the other things we saw in Amsterdam. Next time I either come by myself or with another group, I'll definitely be contacting your agency.
