We were born, raised, and live in rolling hills of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In the 1990's my husband and I were looking for a vacation home where we could enjoy the freedoms, fun, and safety we enjoyed as children of the 40's and 50's. We found that place in Oxford - a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. 750 full time residents on 245 acres. Oxford is friendly, familiar, and safe.
This house is one of three built in the 1920's by a father for his three daughters. Using the windows, wood, and doors from the old school house located on what is now Town Park in the center of Oxford, he built his daughters three homes along Town Creek on open farm land with a wonderful view of the Oxford Historical district. Oxford has grown since then with houses replacing the cedar trees and corn. The three homes have changed as well, but looking carefully you can see that originally they were very much the same and tell a story of a father taking care of his daughters without favoratism.
A cozy waterfront getaway for 2-6 persons with large school house windows and a private pool, waterfront gazebo and dock. The cottage's location provides walking distance to Historic Oxford. Once you drop your keys in the kitchen drawer you may find that walking, paddling, biking or boating are the only types of transportation needed.
