4 Bedroom/ 3.5 Bath Hilltop Oasis in Perfect Berkeley Location

Located in one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most prestigious residential neighborhoods, this modern luxury home is the perfect place for a family reunion or a reasonable alternative to hotel stay for a family. It is a bright and modern house with panoramic bay views to the south and views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz to the west.

The house has two master bedrooms, one other bedroom that has been used as office/bedroom. A final bedroom is either a Gym or bedroom with Daybed with trundle. If used as a gym, it includes a treadmill, bowflex, some free weights, yoga equipment, TV with DVD and satellite cable. The Kitchen living room and dining room were recently remodeled with oak floors, Bamboo cabinets and stainless professional line appliances. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all equipment you could ever want including KitchenAid, Vitamix, Double Oven, Warming Oven, and anything else you might need.

Equidistant between the Claremont Hotel and the Elmwood District this modern home is located in the old historic Claremont Court area. History abounds in this old and well-loved neighborhood, whose entrance is flanked by land-marked lighted pillars from a bygone era, and many of the homes were designed by noted architects, such as Julia Morgan, Walter Ratcliff, and John Hudson Thomas.

From the house, you can walk to BART (about 15 minutes and from there a quick train ride into San Francisco. ) Also within about 5 minutes is the Berkeley Tennis Club, UC Berkeley campus, Strawberry Canyon Recreational Center, Claremont Resort & Spa for health club facilities, more tennis, several swimming pools, and spa. Domingo Avenue (3 blocks away) is a favorite spot with locals for Rick & Ann’s Restaurant, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Wine Thieves wine shop, and a smattering of other stores.

Also within five minutes walking distance is the Elmwood neighborhood--with abundant shopping, theater, cafes, bookstores, and much more. The house is situated about five minutes or less away from freeway access-- (Highways 13, 24, and 580 west to San Francisco, and east to Oakland/Hayward.) There are many hidden ‘Paths of Berkeley’ that will take you on short-cuts to College Ave as well as by old historic landmarks of Berkeley

Easy access to HWY 24 and 580 and only 15 minutes to San Francisco. Many top rated yoga places within minutes of the house! Peet's and Royal Coffee just a short walk. Claremont Natural Reserve and the wonderful Berkeley Fire Trial is just 5 minutes from house, providing an uphill climb rewarded by panoramic bay views. Located in the hills above Rockridge and just a few minutes walk down the hill to College Avenue! Lake Temescal with beach, swimming, picnic spots, and trails - is less than 5 minutes from house! Strawberry Recreation Center is just five minutes from house and has beautiful swimming pools in a lush and verdant setting. Beautifully furnished and fully equipped - this home is in a prime location!

The bright and airy house is situated on a large deep lot (1/3 acre) with towering Coastal Live Oaks, mature fruit trees, level patios in front and rear yard.

There is also a 6 person Hot Tub, recently installed, complete with waterproof sound system and Gazebo.

(The house is not childproofed (open staircases and low windows) so children under 10 not advised.)

Best of All Worlds!

I have stayed in this gracious and sunny Berkeley house several times, and always look forward to a return visit. Amazing kitchen with top notch amenities and space, clean bathrooms on every floor, awesome exercise room, two car garage, and a truly beautiful private backyard. A tremendous view from the dining room. There is a new hot tub outside, as well as a hammock for a mid-day snooze. Burglar alarm for safety assurance, great fireplace that works remotely, really comfortable beds. Almost no street noise, as the house is located on a cul-de-sac.
The house is close to College Ave, which offers a great diversity of dining and shopping options. The Rockridge BART station is only a mile away, giving access to downtown Oakland and San Francisco.
I would recommend this property whole heartedly! One thing it is NOT, is handicap or wheelchair friendly- there are plenty of stairs to keep your legs in shape!

This was a find! Our seven person, multi generation family was really impressed by the east bay location. Fantastic dining and shops within walking distance,cocktails at the Claremont one evening, sightseeing at Angel Island, Alcatraz, and Union Square kept us all busy. The house was a modern design with a great cook's kitchen, two outdoor patios/living areas and we loved the hot tub. The house was spotless and fully stocked with everything needed.The owners went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, even left a rawhide chew toy as a welcome gift for our dog!

Giving thanks (for finding this place)

My family and I hosted Thanksgiving at this house. In short, our stay was perfect. The kitchen is phenomenal and has everything you could possibly need. The house is very peaceful and there are so many elements that made the stay very relaxing (hottub, comfy beds, etc.). Any visitor to the Bay Area should consider this oasis. The next time we are in town, we know where we'll want to stay!
