Bar Harbor Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, Baths (Sleeps 6) Family Friendly Home

This lovely spacious home has 2 large bedrooms and 1 smaller bedroom, with 2 full bathrooms. It also features air conditioning for those hot summer days, and a pellet stove (with furnace backup) for those chilly nights. Direct TV and WiFi internet access are available at the cottage. This cottage features an open, inviting floor plan with lots of windows. It has been completely renovated and updated. A beautiful sunroom off the dining area provides a peaceful place to relax.

Conveniently located a short drive from Bar Harbor's bustling downtown, this peaceful home sits along the bus route for the Island Explorer free shuttle buses. Leave your car behind, and hop on a bus for a free ride anywhere on Mount Desert Island and into Acadia National Park. Our cottage sits on a large private lot surrounded by oak trees, and is within walking distance of the ocean. Several popular campgrounds and lobster pounds are within 3 miles, and sea kayaking rentals are within a mile. Our home is within ten to fifteen minutes from each of the towns on Mt. Desert Island: Somesville, Seal Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Southwest Harbor. All of these towns have their own character, and offer their own unique blend of restaurants, sightseeing, whale watching, arts, community events, mountains for hiking, carriage roads for walking or biking, beaches, parks, lighthouses, sailing, and boat-filled harbors.

We are a contractor and a retired CNA. We are native Mainers, and one of us grew up right here in Bar Harbor! We have five children and many grandchildren, all living in Maine.

Rita and Tom Blair purchased this cottage in 1997

Although one of us grew up here, we both lived off of Mount Desert Island for many years. Buying this property gave us the opportunity to move back home to a place we love.

We love the quiet location of our home, close enough to Bar Harbor to access all that it has to offer, but far enough removed to provide us with a private, peaceful place to come home to at the end of the day. We also love that we can step outside and smell the fresh ocean air, and can hop on the free Island Explorer buses and get anywhere on the Island without taking a car.

Tom and Rita have thought of everything for this getaway gem. The cottage is immaculate and well appointed. It exceeded our expectations from what we had seen in pictures and read on line. We were in Bar Harbor for our daughter's wedding on August 3rd and needed a convenient place to stay. The beds and furniture were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens. We chose the place for the spacious yard where we could relax. It was minutes away from Bar Harbor and Ellsworth and all the attractions one would want to see while there. Tom and Rita were a pleasure to do business with and answered all questions promptly. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area and if you come across this on the web then rent it!!!!

We just returned from this comfortable home in Bar Harbor. It is about a 15 minutes drive to the Arcadia National Park and provided my family of 5 a convenient home base to explore the many beautiful sceneries and activities in Bar Harbor and the Arcadia National Park. We enjoyed the convenience of having 2 bathrooms. Also, the high tech washer and dryer, cable TV with lots of selections and high speed Internet are all nice amenities. Great place to stay. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Oak Leaf Cottage for one week and had a would definitly recommend this house to anyone traveling to the Bar Harbor area. This clean and comfortable home sat on a private road in a wooded area (if you're not paying attention you will drive right by). The house had two bedrooms and one bath upstairs which was perfect for me and my kids and the downstairs had another bedroom and bath which was perfect for my parents, who traveled with us. We were probably about 10-15 minutes from the Acadia Park Entrance and about 15-20 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. It was an easy drive to other areas on the island as well. Excellent house especially for the price - I was very impressed.

This was our first excursion to Maine, and this rental property met and exceeded our expectations. If one is seeking privacy this rental will meet that requirement. It is a lovely home and easily acommodated 3 adults and two children (ages 6 and 9). The rental listing was completely accurate. The home is close to all attractions etc., but not within walking distance, so a car is required. The island shuttle passes by but we chose not to utilize it. We did not expect any attractions etc., to be within walking distance when we rented the property so this was not a problem for us. Grocery stores were nearby. We did not experience any problems during our stay and highly recommend this property.
