Secluded Luxury ‘Tree House’ On the Water is the place you’ve always dreamed of to rest and renew your body, mind and spirit. Tucked in the side of a mountain high above the oceans edge is a large studio apartment with everything you could ask for to spend your vacation time away from home. You’ve earned it and all you have to do is let yourself just BE.... With nature, with color, with privacy to lounge, to hang in the hammocks, to prepare delicious meals, listen to music, to remind yourself of what’s possible.
You are not average, so why would you want to stay in an average hotel room when you can spend your days and nights in a one of a kind tree top space, surrounded by nature and water with plenty of room to just be you.
It’s inviting, warm, and relaxing. From the stairway to heaven, to the outdoor shower, the turquoise water and islands in the distance remind you of what balance looks like as all of your problems seem to float away.
Spend time high above the sea, amongst palm tree's and tree frogs, listening to the waves crash into the shore below you, while dreaming your day away. You will find yourself right at home in our secluded 'Tree House' studio apartment. This is a very large room with front and side decks that is nestled high up in the trees, with an expanse of ocean and islands in full view. From the colorful steps leading up to your dream home away from home, to the warm and creative layout of the interior space and finally, to the fun steps leading you up to a separate semi-outdoor bathroom and shower- the views, the breeze and the ambiance will take your breath away.
The large studio apartment contains a full kitchen, refrigerator with an ice maker, stove & oven, microwave, an incredibly comfortable queen size bed, a Mitchell Gold sofa that opens to become a queen size bed for additional sleeping, a 47' flat screen TV with Dish Network and an island charm that makes you feel like you belong here. And it's private!!!!
The Tree House is located down a private drive on the north east side of St. Thomas, just before you reach our villa, Spirit on the Water. You have your own little hideaway tucked within the jungle but with full views of ocean, ocean and more ocean. Really dreamy. Really special. Really welcoming.
Although we always recommend our guest rent a jeep to get around island, there are some fun things to do by foot, right from the Tree House!
Some trails and adventures to take for fun or exercise when you wake up at Treehouse on the Water are a little risky but worth it! The Adventure Trail is a knotted, heavy-duty rope attached to the villa to make the decent down the slope to the water, which can get pretty steep in places! A short 10-minute or so scramble and you are on the rocks, completely away from everything. There’s a huge flat rock that the ocean has naturally carved a seat out of just in front of the ocean.
To get to 'Boo's Beach' just walk back down the road from the Treehouse and after about 100 yards you come to a dip, with a sign on the left and a culvert on the right. Go down the little trail by the culvert and you will see paint marking the trail down to a totally private beach. This is another one of those trails not for the lighthearted. It’s pretty steep but there are enough things to grab on to on your way down to the water. The only warning is to check the tides before setting out. It’s infinitely better at low tide and can be practically non-existent at times during high tide.
TuTu Beach: Walk back down the road from the Treehouse and pass the road going up the hill, staying on the same level. Continue around the corner and you will pass “The Pink Pearl” on your right. Just keep walking as the road makes a sharp right. At the bottom of the hill there is a gate marked “Ocean Overlook” and a trail on your left that continues straight down towards the beach. This is more of a rocky and sandy beach and it’s not very good for swimming as there is coral right by the shoreline. However, there is nice sand in several spots and the gigantic rocks are lovely to hang out on and share some wine and cheese at sunset with the waves crashing against the rocks!
Hike Mandahl Point: From Tutu beach keep going the entire length of the beach until you come to the road at the other end of the beach. About 20 yards up you will see another road going up to the right. This takes you all the way to the end of the peninsula that you see from the Treehouse on your left. There are amazing views of all the islands and it’s a wonderful hike. We call it exercise with a view! Continue on around the loop and you will see the Salt Pond on your right where there is an abundance of wildlife. As you continue on you will eventually loop back down to the part of the beach that you need to cross to enter the road to come back to the Tree House or Spirit on the Water.
Which trail are you going to do first? Our dogs will show you the way, if you're interested!
