Lovely home

Casa Da Vinci was the perfect spot for our family of five to stay in Bruges. The home had ample space, tasteful decoration, good heating and very comfy beds. The city sights and shops were close by, although the street itself was quiet and peaceful. No problems at all with arrangements and payment; information from the owner was prompt and accurate. Highly recommended.

Please note Casa Da Vinci has also the south-facing terrace, which you will appreciate during the warmer summer season.
Casa Da Vinci (Objekt 44162) is also more suited for a family with older children, because there are 4 rooms in the vacation rental, with two sleepingrooms.
Casa Gratituda (Objekt 44162) is more suited for a family with younger children, because this is a 2-roomed penthouse-apartment with 1 sleepingroom and an open bathroom.

Wir haben uns in Brügge und in der Wohnung sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Wohnung war im wesentlichen wie hier beschrieben: tolle Dachterasse, Superlage und alles, was man braucht war da. Das offene Bad im 2. Zimmer ist halt etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber wir konnten uns damit gut arrangieren.
Insgesamt ein gutes Preis/leistungsverhältnis.
Die Hausherren waren sehr freundlich und immer ansprechbar (auch schon im Vorfeld)

tolle Wohnung unterm Dach - ruhig und zentral

Wir haben das Apartment sehr genossen! Nach drei steilen Treppen kommt man in eine liebevoll und außergewöhnlich eingerichtete Wohnung direkt unter dem Dach. Die sehr große Sonnenterasse hat uns sehr gute Dienste erwiesen. Die Wohnung ist absolut ruhig! Das zum einen Doppelbett hin offene Badezimmer ist mit sehr schönen gelaugtem Holz verkleidet und die Badewanne ist superb! Die Lage einmalig - Samstags 100 m zum Markt, der jeden Gourmet verwöhnt ;)) Weiter so ! Wir kommen gerne wieder! P.S: das Auto stellt man am besten außerhalb der Altstadt ab - ca. 5-10 Min. zu Fuß - auch kein Problem!

Only at 100 m , you enjoy the "couleur locale" of Bruges. Isn't that experience what you are looking for ?

When you pass the old gate 'Smedenpoort' (only at 100 m) , you have free parking, unlimited in time.

We enjoyed our stay in this comfy, cozy rooftop apartment. Everything is there one needs (nice, but not luxurious). Beds comfortable, good size south-facing balcony.Those who enjoy a soak in a big tub, will be at the right place. Quiet location, yet close to downtown. Can easily be reached without a car.

Zutreffend an der Beschreibung ist, dass die Terasse in der Tat sehr schön ist. Ansonsten ist die Bezeichnung "Penthouse-Suite" eher satirisch zu verstehen. Am ärgerlichsten ist die Tatsache, dass sich das Bad (inkl. der einzigen, nicht weiter abgetrennten Toilette) nicht zwischen den beiden Zimmern befindet, sondern IM 2. Schlafzimmer! Wer also darauf Wert legt, bei Körperpflege und Toilettenbesuchen von mitreisenden Freunden etc. hautnah beobachten oder zumindest gehört und gerochen werden möchte, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.
Ebenfalls störend ist die praktisch nicht vorhandene Geräusch- und Geruchisolierung der Wohnung, d.h. man erlebt Gespräche, Musik, Küchengerüchte, Badbesuche etc. der Vermieter stets hautnah mit.
Die Einrichtung der Küche bedarf einer Totalsanierung.
Für den Preis bekommt man in Brügge bestimmt sehr schöne Doppelzimmer in einem der unzähligen Hotels!
Auf diese "Penthouse-Suite" werden wir auf jeden Fall zukünftig sehr gern verzichten.
Ebenfalls störend ist die praktisch nicht vorhandene Geräusch- und Geruchisolierung der Wohnung, d.h. man erlebt Gespräche, Musik, Küchengerüchte, Badbesuche etc. der Vermieter stets hautnah mit.

The south-facing roof terrace is one of the elements that make this penthouse a very nice place for a holiday! From the first room of this suite-penthouse, you have a great view on the Bruges skyline through the glass sliding door, running the length of the apartment.
2. 2 or 4 people
As you can see on the photos, the second room of this suite-penthouse has an open all-wood bathroom. Around the corner of this U-shaped room there is another double bed. I can understand that this may feel somewhat uncomfortable for two couples traveling together. So this is something you should know before choosing this holiday apartment. But families traveling with children normally have no problems with this setting. There is nothing to be ashamed off anything that is human !
3. Sound insulation
The penthouse is on the third floor of my house. 90% of the time, nobody is living on the second floor. Then this apartment really is a quiet place. Sometimes my children (22 and 20 years old) are staying at my house. They are both university students. When they are at home, there is indeed a more lively atmosphere in the house. I think this is a normal part of life. We do, however, take care not to disturb our holiday guests.
4. Kitchen
Integrated in the first room of the penthouse, there is a small but well-functioning kitchen alcove with a refrigerator, two electrical plates and a microwave oven. Enough to do some basic cooking. My point of view is that the cook is more important than the kitchen itself.
5. Rate
In a hotel in Bruges, you would easily pay 100 euro per night for a spacious double room in the weekend. With 2 people in Casa Gratituda, you get a nice south-facing roof terrace included in the price, and you can save expenses because you do not have to eat out all the time. With 3 or 4 people, staying at Casa Gratituda gives you a substantial price advantage.
