Tarpon Season Special May 1 - July 15.

-----------------------------------------

Full American Plan: three meals (box lunch fishing days). Will arrange guides for rod or fly fishing from Burnt Store Marina. Tarpon fisherWOMEN especially welcome. Extra activities for females fishing & spouses.

-----------------------------------------------------General Description: on your west-facing lanai listen to bird-call. Ospreys, hawks, and eagles fly over the mangrove island and land on their favorite perch. Dolphins swim by in all seasons. As cooler weather arrives so do manatees. Mullet fishermen cast nets in the canal below your lanai. When they leave, mullets jump for joy. Before setting out on a day of boating, fishing, golfing or sight-seeing work out in the fitness room or swim laps in the pool. For your day's activities we arrange boat rental, cruises to Cabbage Key, Boca Grande, and barrier islands of Cayo Costa and Sanibel/Captiva; golf and tennis dates and/or instruction at myriad facilities including men, ladies or mixed golf and tennis. Will organize shopping and arts excursions, massage therapy, spa and salon services in your unit or at your choice of salon. Will arrange transportation to Northport's famous Hot Mineral Springs to ply the mineral-rich 'lake', have aqua-yoga massage, full spa services, mud baths and hear the polyglot of Eastern Europeon languages. Its deep deep center is deeper than Baden Baden's famous pool in Europe. Or, just relax in the sun on the pool deck or your choice of the Prosperity Point east and west pools (shady spots there). Soak in the hot tub on any of the pool decks, chat with neighbors, arrange a golf date or an excursion to Sarasota, Venice, Fort Myers, Naples, or Boca Grande by car or boat. Yes, you can boat to them all via the Inter-Coastal north from the west end of Charlotte Harbor, inside the barrier islands or on the Gulf of Mexico. Calusa Queen provides cruises to barrier islands and sets out on sunset cruises every day from Burnt Store Marina. Is it time for cocktails? Watch the gorgeous sunsets from the pool deck, your own west-facing lanai or on the Calusa Queen's sunset tour. Perhaps take the golf cart (provided) and join other sunset-watchers at the water's edge near the exit from Burnt Store Marina into Charlotte Harbor. Listen for the sound of the conch shell as the sun dips below the horizon (Key West-style). Wait and watch as the sunset colors spread across the sky, deepening in color and loveliness as the evening slowly subsides into nightfall. Toast to another beautiful day in Burnt Store Marina. Your own liquors and wines are in your liquor cabinet and bar refrigerator (provided for extra change). There's glass and plastic beverage-ware including Tervis Tumblers to keep your beverages hot or cold. Plastic beverage containers are required on the pool deck. Three Viking gas-fired grills are on the pool deck below. Grill along with other residents and exchange experiences of the day. Dine on the pool deck at tables around the pool, at your lanai table, inside at the dining table, or casually at the kitchen bar. (Full meal plan available). After dark relax in the oversized tan leather Natuzzi sectional or two reclining chairs. A full cable package including the golf, tennis and movie channels is on your HD television. Or check out the night sky with the astronomical telescope on the lanai. Will arrange for evenings at an observatory with an astronomer on the grounds of Thomas Edison College in Punta Gorda. Prefer a movie or to watch television with other residents? On the amenities floor there's a 16-seat theatre with reclining seats and in the social room there's comfortable couches and chairs. Both locations have Direct TV. Or have a game of pool or tinkle the ivories on the baby grand piano.

Ladies: join the ladies playing Mah Jong on Monday evenings. Gents: the guys play poker Tuesday evenings. All: at Portobello's it's karaoke on Wednesdays, live entertainers Thursday to Sunday and happy hour lasts all day. GI 3/4's Thirsty Thursday is on (guess?)Thursday evenings in the social room. The program of theme nights is posted on the main floor bulletin boards. Join Prosperity Point's mixed golf foursomes on Fridays and then attend their Meet & Greet, Sip and Dip on Friday evenings at the East and West Pools.(All GI 3/4 residents may also use the East and West Pools inside the residences of Emerald and Topaz Condo Associations.) Walk over to the Burnt Store Fitness Center and play tennis on the night-lighted courts. Take a stroll passagiata-style along the canal and around Prosperity Point island. It's a relaxing way to end the day before retiring to your comfortable bedrooms all with pillow-top mattresses. Prop up on comfortable pillows and read your book or e-reader or play soduku or do a cross-word puzzle on your I-Pad or Smart Phone. Did you read the paper yet? If you want a print edition choose delivery of the Wall Street Journal, The Fort Myers News-Press, The Sarasota Herald Tribune (Washington Post/New York Times), or the The Wire/Charlotte Sun.

About Brian McGraw

We're New Yorkers, one of us a Canadian, and we discovered Burnt Store Marina in 2004. We bought our Grande Isle, Burnt Store Marina condo a year later and spent as much time as we could here before making it our permanent home in 2007.

Brian McGraw purchased this condo in 2005
Why Brian McGraw chose Punta Gorda

Burnt Store Marina provides a total lifestyle for the golfer, tennis player, boater and fisherman located on protected Charlotte Harbor, a harbor second in size only to Tampa Bay along the west coast, with unparalleled ease of access to the Gulf of Mexico. Burnt Store Marina is close to two airports: SW Florida (Fort Myers) and Punta Gorda Airport. It is the midway point for sightseeing and touring between Sarasota to the north and Naples to south, each just over 60 miles away. The small, historic, Peace River town of Punta Gorda is 20 minutes north and provides dining, arts and main-street shopping. 20 minutes south is the Key West-style fishing village and arts community of Matlacha known for its art galleries, pastel-painted businesses, and 'the fishing-est bridge' where at any time in 24 hours some will be fishing. For malls and city entertainment Fort Myers is 35 minutes away.

What makes this condo unique

Burnt Store Marina provides boating and fishing at our doorstep, unparalleled water views, and easy boat access to the beautiful barrier islands and beaches of Cayo Costa, Captiva, Sanibel and Boca Grande. It provides a quiet, secure place to live and play and enjoy the unique natural setting that is SW Florida. Yet, a short drive away are the airports, highways, entertainment, and shopping of city and town life.

Anyone staying in this condo will absolutely love it. Not only is the condo spacious and beautifully decorated but the view is like a beautiful painting and every day and every night it is different. The sunsets you will see from your balcony are superb and the stars at night will take your breath away.

You will see manatee and their young right outside your balcony heading up the river to the yacht area. You can see them up close and personal by the docks. From the time you pass through the gates you will notice the manicured grounds.

Joanne is a wealth of knowledge of many interesting venues that you can take advantage of while you are there if you so choose.

Just pack your toothbrush because Joanne and Brian have thought of everything you could need and everything is top of the line.

Enjoy – we certainly did.

Great condo, outstanding views and all the amenities.
In the month we spent at Burnt Store Marina we had delightful times visiting the quaint stores in Matlacha and found some very nice restaurants. We also visited Sarasota and visited the swamp in Everglades city. It is a bit of a drive there but well worth the time.

We had a wonderful relaxing time and we thank the owners for the use of their condo.

Not only is this is condo lovely – the amenities first rate, the views terrific and the owners very accommodating, the entire atmosphere of the building and the other residents made for a perfect holiday. There are lots of social events happening in the building to which short term renters are more than welcome to attend. In the four weeks we spent at Burnt Store Marina we attended a community Christmas dinner, went on an excursion to a German restaurant with several other couples, watched football on the big screen TV in the community room and were surprised and delighted when several residents organized a surprise birthday party for my husband’s 75th. We made several friends in the building and are looking forward to seeing them again.

We loved the quaint artistic stores in nearby Matlacha and found the many enjoyable restaurants and cultural events in Punta Gorda “right up our alley”. All in all, this was the prefect holiday for us and we want to thank the owners for the use of their lovely home and for helping us settle in.
