Our stay here was better than average, but we could not give it an overall good rating. The condo is furnished nicely. We were the third group to stay at the condo or so we think. All of the furnishings were new and the condo was decorated nicely. If you are expecting to vacation at a resort, this condo and its location are not exactly what you will want to rent. The Little Harbor Resort is not a “resort” in the truest sense of the word. If you want to use the beach and if you are able to do so, you should bring your own beach chairs and umbrella and would need to drive there, as it would be too far to walk caring all the equipment. The beach is not in your backyard as the pictures would lead you to believe. Unfortunately, one of the pools and one of the hot tubs were not operational. This pool and hot tub happened to be the closest to the condo.
We were very disappointed in the town of Ruskin. If we wanted to eat out, we traveled away from the resort to do so. We traveled anywhere from an hour to 10 minutes away for a restaurant meal. The tiki bar and restaurant on site were good, however, one can only eat at the same restaurant so many times. Don’t miss the fried seafood at The Fish House on Shell Point Road. We traveled a lot during our time at the condo. Sarasota and St. Petersburg are nearby and offered a lot of activities.
We must say that Susan was an attentive and helpful owner. She answered our questions promptly and attempted to make any problems we experienced “disappear” as quickly as possible. Some things are not in her control and she is aware of that.

Owner's Response: The complex has multiple pools and hot tubs , tennis courts, fitness center, private beach, pier, tiki bar, two marinas, indoor restaurant, sports bar and grill and an outdoor patio restaurant all of which are within walking distance from the townhome. Sounds like a"resort" to me. If you want to bring your own chairs and umbrella you will probably want to drive. Many people use a golf cart. Unfortunately during this tenant's stay one of the pools required an immediate repair but the on site management got the pool and hot tub up and running within a few days. Ruskin is in a transition phase from small rural town to new suburban homes. If you want to be in a heavily populated area with lots of traffic then this area is not for you. But if you prefer a quiet location within minutes of Bradenton, Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa at less than half the cost of the crowded gulf beaches you may want to give "Little Harbor" a look. The tenant was in fact our third tenant as the condo is for all practical purposes brand new.The furnishings are also new and we attempted to provide the"little things" that are often omitted in a condo such as patio furniture on the balconies, a Keurig coffee maker,a fully furnished kitchen, stereo with I-pod dock and cd player and flat panel televisions.Sun City Center and Apollo Beach are 5 miles down the road with many restaurants and shops.

Excellent Stay at Little Harbor

We booked this townhome for the Month of February 2013. This townhome worked out great for our family, including 2 small children, my husband and I, as well as my parents. Having the different levels helped with privacy and gave everyone their own space. The owners did a great job furnishing this new place, each bedroom has its own flatscreen, plus the one in the living room. Cable and wi-fi all ready to use. We really enjoyed all the amenities available at Little Harbor, like the pools (the pool deck at the high rise was our favorite), beach (great for exploring too), tennis courts, and restaurants. (Wish it had a kid play area, but we still tired the kids out!) This area is not overly touristy, but still had plenty of great restaurants, grocery stores, golfing, spas nearby. And for a short day trip you can visit the outlet mall (20 minutes), Branden Mall (very nice, has kid play areas 25 minutes), Bradenton Beaches (30 minutes). Also went to the Red Barn Flea Market (great produce). We also visited Disney (1.5 hours travel time).
The unit was very clean upon arrival and the owners are very accomadating. We had to leave unexpectedly for a funeral and Susan was so understanding. The beds are very comfortable and the place has enough supplies to get you going.
