Adding to the sense of peace is the fact that few vehicles can access the narrow streets of the old village. This makes the streets comfortable and safe for residents and visitors, and makes a great area for children to play and explore. Car parking is in the village car parks,outside the Wall and about 300 metres from La Penna. There are no security issues in the area.

The owner, Leonardo, will help you with your luggage if required. He has a Smart car, which can access the streets.

Things to do.: The Garfagnana is a compact area, easily accessible and superb for walking and climbing, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. We have links to an outdoor activities centre who offer guided walks, world class gorge walking and mountain biking amongst other activities.

There are many villages nearby worth exploring, including Barga, famous for its art exhibitions, summer opera, jazz and food festivals. Also nearby is Bagni di Lucca with its thermal baths, elegant villas and pretty surroundings.

There are 3 restaurants in the village and dozens of good family run restaurants in the area. A typical set lunch of pasta course, followed by meat and vegetables, with wine, bread and coffee, costs only 9-12 euros, and a typical main course in the evening costs 8-12 euros. delicious pizzas cost around 4-6 euros.
