Dolphin Cove offers the best of both worlds with views of Estero Bay on one side and the white sands of Ft Myers Beach just steps away. 'Dolphin Cove' is a delightful 2 Bedroom 1 Bath cottage situated on a picturesque inlet at the North tip of Ft. Myers Beach. It was named after the many playful dolphins that visit the inlet.
You may want to relax and just sit on the lanai, watch the boats pass by, and see the variety of marine life, or, on the other hand, if you prefer a swim, a heated beachside pool is available to our guests just across the street. Of course, there is always the Gulf of Mexico for dips.
The entertainment district commonly known as 'Times Square' is just a short walk and features a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. The 4 Star Pink Shell Resort and Marina is also located just up the street. At the Pink Shell you can enjoy a beachside bar, restaurant, and spa all available to the public, or rent a boat or go parasailing. Bowditch Point Park, known for its mile of trails and many ecosystems, has kayaks and paddleboards, and is part of the Great Calusa Blueway Paddling Trail. For those interested in fishing, charters are available just across the skybridge. Also across the skybridge is the Key West Express with daily trips to Key West. The nearby 'Big M Casino' boat offers twice daily gambling cruises.
Since 'Dolphin Cove' is so close to everything, park your car, take the trolly, rent a bike, or walk to all that the North end of Ft Myers Beach has to offer.
Then, as your day comes to a close, head to the beach to watch the setting sun over Sanibel Island. After that, fire up the gas grill, kick back and enjoy the island lifestyle in this wonderful cottage where all the comforts of home await you.
We purchased the property because of its extraordinary view and proximity to the beach. Rather than tear the
structure down we elected to keep the charm of the neighborhood by leaving the structure in tact but totally
re-doing the interior by redecorating and updating all plumbing, electrical and appliances. What we ended up with is a cottage with the charm of the old days but with all the modern conveniences of today.
This cottage is a favorite of passers-by because of its unique charm. It is conveniently located on the north end of the island which makes it much quicker to exit the island. Of course, you still may have a wait getting back on the island during the busy months of February and March but it is very quick getting off.
Island Trolly service is available right outside the front door if you don't feel like walking. We are only 1/2 mile
to the 'Times Square' area with numerous pubs, restaurants and shops.
The neighborhood streets were recently redone adding
dedicated bicycle lanes, trolly pull-offs and a palm lined
Boulevard with extensive landscaping. It is becoming a favorite vacation spot for families from all over.
We are located in a very unique area of the island where the island is very narrow. This is what allows us to have the waters of Estero Bay in our back yard and the Gulf of Mexico in our front yard so to speak.
The cottage is has approximately 1000 square feet of living space with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Although it
only has 1 bathroom, that area is configured a little differently. One part of the bathroom has a sink and toilet and can be accessed from the living area and locked off from the rest of the bath area. The shower, washer and dryer, double sinks, and master bedroom closet are located in the main part of the bathroom and can be accessed from the master bedroom or the living room. This makes it more convenient and allows for more flexibility when everyone is getting ready for the day.
The kitchen features an island area and a separate breakfast nook. A separate table for 4 is located just off the kitchen. We think you will find this to be the perfect spot for a beach getaway.
The original cottage featured a mother in law quarters on the lower level, the current owners are in residence occasionally throughout the year.
