In the heart of Glenwood, this convenient home offers plenty of living space for families looking to enjoy Colorado. Our home offers a wonderful 2nd story deck across the entire front of the house. The deck is perfect for drinking coffee in the morning, relaxing with a good book, or a glass a wine at sunset. We are located a block west of City Market, so we are conveniently located for shopping, fun at the pool, river rafting, fly fishing, and skiing at Sunlight up the valley or Beaver Creek, Vail, and the Aspen areas.
The home was built in app. 1990 in a raised ranch configuration. The upstairs area includes a great room/family room dining area and kitchen with cathedral ceiling and large window and slider doors with a view of the surrounding mountains. 2 bedrooms on the upper floor have a king bed and TV’s. The full bath has walk in shower and separate tub. The upper and lower floors are mainly carpeted with neutral berber carpet and the kitchen has vinyl flooring. The two upstairs bedrooms have large windows and private doors that open to an adjoining rear deck area with a view of the canyon toward the East. This small retreat is a wonderful little getaway to look at the stars at night.
On the base floor, we have an entry foyer that is great for storing your shoes, ski boots, hiking and pool supplies. There is a 3rd bedroom with King bed and plenty of closet space. In the rear of the first floor there is a large 2nd family room with a sectional, and single bed with trundle and single pull out. This floor has a half bath/powder room. Additionally, there is a washer and dryer in the utility room.
We are about a half block away from the Rio Grand Trail which is excellent for taking a hike into town or alternately away from town along the Roaring Fork River. We have walked a short distance on the trail, and watched the activity on the river below, watching fly fisherman on the river and enjoying the dogs at the dog park about 3 blocks away along the trail. The trail head starts appx. in Glenwood at Two Rivers Park and goes all the way to Aspen. In the morning you can take a nice little hike “out of town” and back down Grand Ave. past the Safeway and stop for a Starbucks! Or take a morning walk into town for a coffee at the Blue Bird café.
The house is not air conditioned, but the Canyon normally cools in the evening and the house stays comfortable even in the summer months. In the evening, the Glenwood Canyon offers you dry comfortable nights. In the cool weather months, we have 3 thermostats that keep the home toasty. The house has hydronic baseboard water heaters for a warm even heat.
The kitchen is fully equipped with most everything you could need. Dishes, pots galore, flatware, coffee maker etc. The dining room has a standard table to seat 6, however the kitchen island accommodates 3 and we have some extra table stored in case you have a larger group.

The Nadolskis family lives in the Chicago area. Harry a meat cutter and Hilda a lifetime cookie packer at Nabisco loved the Glenwood Springs Pool so much, that they sold their Chicago bungalow and moved to Glenwood upon their retirement. Reni & Len (niece and nephew) are now enjoying the home whenever possible and renting the property for Aunt Hilda.
Moving to Glenwood fulfilled Hilda and Harry's dream of moving to Colorado. The wonderful Hot Springs pool that is open year round was the initial draw, however the hiking, biking, skiing, moderate climate and wonderful small town atmosphere made Glenwood Springs a perfect choice. The location at I 70 between Vail and Aspen makes it perfect for skiing as well as touring Colorado. We love it so much, we know you will too!
The in-town location makes this home perfect for anyone visiting the area. Close enough for the early bird vacationer to take a walk into town for coffee and get a start on the day. We are a 5 minute drive from the pool, so you can easily come home from the pool for lunch and go back for a second swim later in the day. We built the home with large living areas to enjoy family and friends and added a front and back balcony to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The front balcony/deck spans the entire front of the house so plenty of room for the entire family to enjoy morning coffee or to relax before dinner
