About Sheila

Hello Folks, We are Andy and Sheila. We live here on the mountain right down the road . The tree house is a six year dream come to life. We bought and retired here with a dream of building a place where we and others could relax and recharge and even play a little. We have been married almost thirty years. Andy came from Iowa, Sheila (me) was raised only 40 miles from Monteagle. The mountain offered such beauty, we had to be here! We Love It and we believe you will too.

Sheila purchased this studio in 2012
Why Sheila chose Monteagle

When we started looking for a place to retire we came to the mountain just sight seeing. It seemed that every time we decided to wander, we ended up right back here. Ultimately, we had a plan to have a place where people can unplug and recharge. Life is so busy, it is nice sometimes to get away from it all. So, we purchased almost eighteen acres here. The treehouse is the first to be built for our plans of a retreat. Ultimately, we want to have a couple of places for people to come and relax and enjoy nature.

What makes this studio unique

We fell in love with the land! Trees fifty feet tall, the valley with the tiny stream. We built our home here first. Andy had the idea of his tree-house, He designed and just finished it. Not just a plain little room but open exposed beams, kind of like the main house. Whimsy bath with a fossil sink, water can shower and rustic style. The open kithcen has the essentials for cooking and and 50's dinette set. Blast from the past is one way of describing it. But, Of course we had to have the comforts of home. The covered porch overlooks the small valley and opposite hillside of the property. Privacy is given when you visit here.

My sister and I wanted a nice place to come back to after a long day of hiking. This is the perfect place for us, we will be back in the years to come. We thoroughly enjoyed it's unique design and the rock patio with a fire pit, this was a surprise and added attraction. It felt like home away from home, so glad we found it!!!

This place is wonderful. It's got everything you need for a low-key weekend alone or with your special someone. It's cute, it's well-constructed, it's off the beaten path but easy to get to. It started raining about 45 minutes after we arrived and stopped raining about 45 minutes before we left, so we just stayed relaxed in the hot tub or reading under the covered porch. We didn't try the wi-fi, but we had perfectly fine cellphone coverage all weekend on Verizon and AT&T. I'm definitely ready to go back. It says it sleeps 4, but this is an ideal couple's retreat.

The husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway to relax and unwind.....we definitely found it at the Tree House!!! We could not have ask for a more peaceful and relaxing weekend. It even rained and stormed the whole weekend but never dampened our visit. Nothing like sleeping under a metal roof in the rain and storms! I would highly recommend the Tree House for anyone looking for that quick getaway for some much needed peace and tranquility. See you again soon....

what a special place!!! Me and my wife really enjoyed our time in the tree-house. The setting is beautiful and the fiery gizzard trail was an incredible hike! It was so easy for us to relax and unwind there. the only hard thing about it was leaving!

The perfect place for a couple to escape and rest

My husband and I both LOVED this treehouse hideaway.
The cabin's furnishings are, as another reviewer put it, whimsical.
You could sleep more than two people here, but I wouldn't advise it. It's a cozy size for a couple, but three adults might trip over each other.
The owner bent over backwards to make sure that things went well, and she was delightful over the phone.
Don't count on internet service; you're at the mercy of the tree movement. The place theoretically has internet, but you're at the mercy of tree movement. I say, "Who cares?" You're supposed to be getting away from the rat race--and that includes the internet!
A word to the wise: The maps on the internet to this cabin's address are incorrect!!! Use the owner's directions.
My husband and I can't wait to get back!

The Treehouse is a wonderful retreat! Just far enough away for peace and privacy yet, close enough to get out and do something fun. The Treehouse is charming and comfortable. Sheila and Andy are great!

Treehouse on Monteagle

My wife and I enjoy our weekend stay at this cottage. It was very secluded, private and very quiet.. The property was clean and well maintained. Yet if we needed an item we contacted the owner who was 200 yards away and she was very prompt with her response.

Location was great. Easy drive from Nashville and very close to a number of parks. We are hikers and we found a number of excellent trails.

Accommodations were great. A number of different amenities: coffee maker, kitchen and entertainment area etc. . Bed was good, a little firm. Hot tub was great to relax after a busy day.

High point restaurant was a great place to eat.

Great couples retreat but it would be a little crowded with anymore than two.

Highly recommend this location.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to send us a review! We appreciate our guests and try to take care of the extras' that might be needed., The tree house is a Cozy retreat for two people that want that time alone. But, there is room for a couple of kids or friends coming for the hiking in the area. The futon has extra padding to make it a comfortable full bed. We strive to give our guests a clean and comfortable retreat. Thank you again for vising with us and hope to see you aga9in soon!!

This little tree-house was a sweet refuge for us for a couple of nights. The rain fell on the metal roof and the trees, so instead of taking in local hiking trails, we spent time on the porch and in the hot-tub as well as reading on the futon. It was really wonderful for two people and provided the relaxation we were seeking. Sheila was very hospitable.

We hope to return! Thanks.
