This is a fine neighborhood in the fashionable center of the city. It is located conveniently between the Spanish Steps and Piazza Barberini and close to large villas and luxury hotels below the Via Veneto. There is even a rare public garage up the street. Even through you can walk all over the center of Rome from this convenient location, you are close to two subway stations, taxi ranks and excellent bus service.

In a fine building from the late 1700s, the Teodora apartment brings you into the heart of Rome in a warm and bright apartment. There is no elevator; the apartment is on the second floor, 32 steps from the front door.

As you enter the spacious living room, you find yourself ready to relax and enjoy your Roman holiday. Two large windows overlook the local street. A three seat sofa and two armchairs welcome all guests. A flat screen television shows Italian channels.

Adjoining the living room is a spacious bedroom that has two single beds that can be made up together as a queen-sized bed. A closet and shelves line one wall. A large window with sound insulating glass overlooks the street. One bathroom with step-in shower serves this bedroom and the public areas; it is accessed through a door next to the front door.

This apartment has a full dining room with a table that seats all guests. A wall of cupboards holds dishes. The kitchen has an open pass through to the dining room, good for natural light from the kitchen windows. This is a full kitchen with full refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, oven and dishwasher, pots and pans.

At the back of the apartment, the quiet master suite welcomes with its own small private terrace. The bed is a divisible king. A lovely antique cheval mirror stands next to full closets. Individual lights on the bedside tables. The room is bright with light through window and french doors to the patio. A cafe table invites you to leisurely breakfast while you enjoy the warm Mediterranean weather surrounded by garden plants.

The large master bath with attractive tilework has a step-in shower, heated towel racks and the washing machine.

A Perfect Roman Holiday Location

This was a perfect location for our family or 4 (son 15 yrs, daughter 13 yrs) to settle in, relax and enjoy Rome and Florence. The apartment is large, high ceilings, well appointed, clean and includes all of the amenities of your own pied-à-terre. The large living room allowed for down time (recharging), quiet siestas, an aperitif, and space for the teens. The bedrooms are on opposite ends of the end apartment which allows for privacy. The kitchen and baths were large and in great condition. It is also a very safe location for the teens to sightsee nearby. Everything is in walking distance -even the Vatican (we walked to see Pope Francis). For the avid runner the Borghese Park is right up the street. We loved it.

Great location. Felt like a home, not a rental.

We stayed in Teodora for a week at the end of November. It is a comfortable apartment for two couples. The location is ideal - very close to the top of the Spanish Steps and no more than a five minute walk to either the Spagna or Barberini metro stops. Stella, the greeter, was warm, welcoming, and informative. She was very easy to make arrangements with prior to our arrival.

The apartment is surprisingly roomy for a Roman rental and the kitchen is well equiped. It is nicely decorated so apartment feels welcoming, instead of like a glorified hotel room. We didn't have the chance to take advantage of the terrace because of cold and rain, but it looked like a nice spot to enjoy breakfast.

Internet access is limited to a USB key. Unless you have a mobile wi-fi hotspot, access is limited to one device at a time. Those with iPads and smart phones have to go across the street for free wi-fi at La Fenice cafe. The people at the cafe don't mind, especially if you sip an esspresso or cappucino while using their wi-fi.

A word of warning about the bathroom in the rear, you have to step over a knee high wall to get into the shower. Something to consider if someone in your party has mobility or balance issues. The front bathroom has no obstructions.

One or two blocks from Teodora, tucked away on a side street, is a wonderful restaurant - Osteria Barberini. It is open for lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. We stopped in on Tuesday night and made reservations for dinner on Wednesday.

Terrific in all Respects

From my first call to Stella, to our meeting at the apartment where she gave us all kinds of tips, to my last call to tell her we were leaving early the next morning and wanted to thank her, the experience was first class. Stella even left some food so we would not have to worry about breakfast our first morning. The apartment itself was perfectly furnished for comfort with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths for my husband, 13 year old granddaughter and myself, a small patio to either enjoy or use to hang out the laundry (there was a washer),and a fully equipped kitchen (we did not use. The location above the Spanish Steps was quiet and across from a wonderful cafe for great cappuccinos, breakfast and free wifi (La Fenice), and around the corner from a terrific new cafe owned by a Dutch woman (Sofia's, also with free wifi) if you tire of authentic Italian food. Our travel agent recommended Italy Perfect and indeed they provided us with a perfect Italian experience in Rome.

Lovely Apartment - Great Location

The apartment exceeded our expectations. Often, website photos cleverly exaggerate the size and look of an apartment or hotel room. That was not the case here - the apartment was larger (and nicer) than it appears in the photos. We hired Stefano's car service (recommended by Italy Perfect) to pick us up at the airport and it went without a hitch. The driver called the greeter for us and she was at the apartment when we arrived (at 9:00 pm). The apartment was clean and well appointed. Both the second bedroom and the master bedroom were larger than we had expected. The kitchen was well equipped. The living room was a perfect spot for a late afternoon glass of wine and some pre-dinner appetizers. The location was fantastic. There is a nice tea room right across the street (perfect for a morning espresso and pastry) and a small neighborhood grocery shop a couple of doors down. The Spanish Steps are less than a 5 minute walk from the front door. The pizzeria about half a block away (on Via degli Artisi was pretty good - and reasonable prices). For restaurants withing a 5-10 minute walk, we liked The Tritone restaurant. But, there must be 100 good restaurants within a 20 minute walk. Pat at Italy Perfect was very responsive to our questions and we had no problems at all with any aspect of the rental. Italy Perfect's rates might be a little higher than some other rates we saw; but, often you get what you pay for and that certainly was the case here. Not having any problems to deal was worth a few extra dollars. We would rent the Teodora again - that should say it all.
