House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 12 in 8 beds)

**Absolute 12 person maximum occupancy including infants and children**

Remodel completed late fall 2012. Five BR, 3BA, FR, Great Room (combination living room/dining room), and eat-in-kitchen. Equally comfortable for two, four, six, or up to twelve occupants. ONE DOES NOT WALK BY ANY OTHER BEDROOM TO ACCESS ANY BEDROOM. Sleeps up to 12. Great for multi-generation gatherings. And three bedrooms have direct access to private patio. All with vistas, two of them with ocean views.

Roche Bobois, Ligne Roset, Baughman, BDI & other top of the line furniture. 2013 65' top rated Panasonic plasma TV. Tempurpedic mattresses (two Cal-King - one of which can be split into two single XL, two queens, one bunk bed and one double) on six of the eight beds, the other two featuring top of the line pillow top mattresses. Feather pillows. New hardwood floors, hardware, lighting (and controls) and granite throughout (counters, bath, fireplace & thresholds). Home enjoys ocean views and enjoys elbow room of 26,000 sf of land which includes adjoining lot owned by same owner. Huge patios including one with sweeping ocean, cove, and North Shore views. Big circular driveway. Parking for 8-10 cars in huge motor court.

SUPERB LOCATION. In the heart of La Jolla, the home is only 0.29 miles from the beaches of La Jolla Shores, a huge crescent-shaped children-friendly beach. It is less than 0.5 miles to Prospect Street and restaurant row and 0.68 miles to the ultra-scenic and world famous La Jolla Cove, a small intimate sheltered beach and 'San Diego's most desirable spot for swimming, snorkeling and diving.' Walk Coast Walk between the residence and the Cove for one of the most scenic walks of your life.

Beach towels (8 huge), beach lounge chairs (six back-pack style for ease of carrying), and umbrellas (four over-sized but lightweight), all Tommy Bahama, included.

For computer use, six foot glass topped 'desk' in FR with two Knoll office chairs. For dining, tables and chairs for ten (twelve when using the office chairs).

What makes this house unique

Enjoy being indoors with the feeling of being one with nature. Glass just disappears into the ceilings and many of the walls. YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE OUTDOORS WHILE INSIDE THE HOME. Eight huge skylights bath the home with light while the cedar roof overhang providing natural sun control. Two of the skylights in the bathroom area are ventilating.

And speaking of ventilation, with operative sliding glass windows next to the ceiling in all rooms, catch the ocean breezes and enjoy SUPER cross ventilation. That ventilation eliminates all the hot air that typically rises to the ceiling and creates higher interior than exterior temperatures. No need for mechanical airconditioning nor is any featured. ENJOY LA JOLLA'S FANTASTIC WEATHER WHILE INSIDE YOUR HOME!

Although there is little need for it, enjoy radiant hot water heat in the floors on those cooler winter nights.

Wonderful huge patios and much lush vegetation. Extreme privacy.

Note: Door clearances are 6'2' to 6'3'.

Great Place to Stay!

We rented this place for a family reunion. We had 3 families with small children and it was the perfect fit. One of the bedrooms is away from the others so it worked out great for the grandparents. David, the owner met us at the place and showed us around. He had a binder for us that included maps, where to eat, how to work the tv.... It was very well organized. We also had Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
The house was fully equipped with everything you could think of, which made it very comfortable. He even has beach towels, beach umbrellas, chairs,......things we didn't think of bringing.
The property is well maintained and very clean. Wonderful customer service!
We would definitely recommend this property!

We rented this property while our house was being renovated, and I can honestly say that I did not want to go home. Owner/host = great; house furnishings/supplies = great; location = great. This place allows you the rare opportunity to live in an architects art piece.

Stayed here with 5 women for a girls' weekend. Having our own bedrooms and 3 baths was great. It's rare to find a rental where all bedrooms have comfortable beds and linens. It was an easy walk to town with a beautiful view of the coast along the way. David welcomed us graciously and made sure we had everything we needed.

Gorgeous modern architectural home with luxury ammenities – highly recommended!

This beautifully updated 1951 mid-century modern home is an architectural gem and is exquisitely furnished. The description given for the property is very accurate – tons of natural light, access to the patio from nearly every room in the house and sweeping ocean views. The beds are extremely comfortable with linens to match, the huge TV and "Zero Gravity/Perfect Chair" heavenly and the huge master jacuzzi bathtub a pleasure to soak in. I would highly recommend this property, as it's close to the freeway as well as to downtown La Jolla. The owner has been responsive and helpful – from the initial meeting to walk us through the property to make sure we were familiar with how everything worked to restaurant suggestions – pride of ownership is evident. For anyone who loves clean, modern open space – this is for you!

We booked on very short notice for Thanksgiving Week. The home had just been extensively remodeled and updated and we were the very first tenants there. Everything was clean and just as the owner described in the listing.

The furniture was really tasteful, the Tempur Pedic beds were very comfortable(I have a bad back) and the location was great--Kellogg Park Playground and the beach were a few blocks away as was beautiful La Jolla. The yard was large and private and had plenty of lush hidden areas for the kids to play safely.

David, the owner, lived nearby and was able to quickly supply the few minor items that were lacking upon checkin. He was also prompt about returning the security deposit.

We would like to rent this property again.

I must say.. we were very impressed with the modern style and comfort level of this home. It is located close (short walk/drive) to the La Jolla cove, and even closer to La Jolla Shores beaches. From the outside the house appears small but don't let that fool you. There is plenty of room inside and out. We loved the hardwood floors and stone-work bathrooms throughout The courtyards around the home were great for entertaining, and the deck (up a short climb) was a nice touch. Views of the ocean from the kitchen, den, and deck, make it a great find! One of the more relaxing features is the back patio where you get the cool ocean breezes. We hope to make it back again soon!
